Ryder update, NXT Title note, Interviews with Goldberg/Rollins/HHH, TNA signings/re-signings, more names for Raw Reunion, Smackdown audience, and Questions on the Elimination Chamber, Reigns, Dreamer, Summerslam, Dudleys in WWE, and Howard Finkel

Zack Ryder has been working out for an in-ring return, including training at the school of his former partner Curt Hawkins. I hope he can regain some momentum in 2015. It might be time for a totally new gimmick.

The next few weeks of NXT will feature a tournament to declare a new #1 Contender. I'm curious to see who that will be. I don't see why Regal would allow Owens to be in it.

Goldberg talked about potentially wrestling again and more. I REALLY doubt we see that. Is there even all that much demand for it anymore?

Despite being pulled from his upcoming Bellator bout, Lashley will still be able to work TNA's UK tour. He's one of the biggest parts of the company right now, so it's good they still have him.

Everything else from yesterday is after the break.
Seth Rollins talked about the Royal Rumble and more:
- I'm ready for the age of Rollins as WWE Champion. I think it might be time to roll the dice and have him win it.

- Cool to see props for other NXT names. It does seem like the same few names keep coming up, but that's for good reason.

- I doubt we see Taker vs. Rollins one-on-one. I think Taker's got about two big matches left in him, tops, and he's hanging it up.

John Gaburick announced a slew of names staying with TNA. I wonder if these names are under restructured deals or something. Or maybe TNA's just now announcing some things publicly we already knew:
- Jeff Hardy, who was under contract at least through the end of 2015 anyway.
- Manik, who announced being re-signed in September/October.
- Kenny King.
- Gail Kim, who's under a new contract after her previous one expired in late 2014.
- Mark Andrews, who won British Boot Camp 2. He'll debut on TV in February or March after the UK tapings.
- Awesome Kong

It's good for TNA to be keeping those names and signing some new ones. 2015 will be a very important year for them.

SoCal Val will work the TNA UK tapings. That's a little surprising given her departure a few years back.

Update: Val is taking Hemme's place because Hemme can't travel after recently giving birth. I imagine Val's return is temporary while Hemme recovers.

Kevin Nash, the New Age Outlaws, Jimmy Hart, and Ron Simmons are booked for Raw Reunion. Can The Ascension get heat on APA and/or The Outlaws? I'd love to see that. I don't know if any of them are in shape to take more bumps, though.

Smackdown's audience on Thursday's debut was 2.68 million. That's honestly not much of a jump from Fridays. Maybe they'll do better as time goes on.

Triple H had a long interview. I wonder how many matches he works in 2015.

For my take on yesterday's PWInsider.com questions:
1. It could be used to set up the #1 Contender at Summerslam. As for dangerous matches, have you been watching Dean Ambrose these last few months? I feel like there are more dangerous matches lately than there have been quite a while. Just because they're conscious of concussions and blood-borne diseases doesn't mean they're coddling people.

2. I would like for his character to be less in the Cena mold and more of a simple, effective ass-kicker. He's hardly failing, but I'm not surprised people keep overlooking his Slammy win.

3. Dreamer just works as a producer and an occasional wrestler in TNA. I guess they pay him per diem like (other) indies and don't have him locked in.

4. As they alluded to, it makes sense to keep it in that area so it aligns with plans to do other live events and TV tapings nearby. Plus, California gets WM31. I don't know if WWE will give them Summerslam, too.

5. I'm actually kind of hyped to see them do a brief run in 2015 as the Dudley Boyz. I'd prefer to see them drop the Bully Ray shtick and go back to the glasses and camo for a nostalgia pop. As for it actually happening, obviously Bully/Bubba has made waves about wanting to go back to WWE, but there hasn't been any indication it's in the works.

6. I can't blame people for wanting to hear Finkel in MSG, but it is a NNNNNNNNNNNNNNEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW generation with a NNNNNEEEEEEEEEEEEWWWWWWWWW ring announcer.

More wrestling tomorrow.
