Main Event Reax - 12/22/16, LU update, Elgin done with ROH?, Drew update, more on TNA UK app, UK name to miss TNA taping, Foley to miss time, Takeover sellout, WWE signs new female competitor, ROH announces another Texas match, WOH bout, and Questions on a cruiserweight clustermess at WM33, New Day's future, Christmas Raw, online dating, and an open world WWE game

-- Main Event:
- Goldust vs. Axel:
Goldust still competing on B-shows as we go into 2017. If the paychecks are worth the bumps, I can't blame him for continuing to take work.

Nice work so far.

Axel's pretty solid.

Good action between both of them.

Nice work all around.

That was a pretty good ending sequence with both men trying to get out of the other's finisher. Simple, but effective.

- Nese vs. Dorado:
Haha I liked Tony more or less no-selling the flips like "this is a wrestling match. I don't care how acrobatic you are."

Dorado's speed works in his favor here.

Don't count Lince out. He's agile like, well, a lynx.

This is good so far.

Lince is impressive!

This is a big showcase for Dorado. I love Nese, but he's kind of the tackling dummy in this one.

Good ending!

The latest word on Lucha Underground Season 4 is that it will tape in October 2017 and start airing in early 2018. There has been no official order by El Rey yet. Season 3 will go through May or so, so there's still plenty of time for something to happen. The status of the project will be something to follow, since the talent contracted there can't work elsewhere between season tapings.

Michael Elgin isn't expected to work for ROH in 2017 outside of being booked there by NJPW. That's a shame; he's always a lot of fun to watch.

Drew Galloway's TNA contract is up in mid-February. One of the sticking points will be whether he's able to book outside dates on his own -- he's able to do quite well for himself working for other companies in-between TNA tapings. WWE, NJPW, etc. would be wise to keep tabs on this situation; Drew's really shown his worth since his WWE release. It would be a shame for TNA to lose the former champion.

In a correction/clarification to a previous story, TNA's UK app is 1.99 pounds per month. It will air Impact Wrestling at the same time as the show airs in the U.S., and feature archived content as well. I don't know how well that will work out for them, but it's seemingly their only option with Challenge dropping them at the end of 2016. That TV deal was one of their top three sources of income.

Grado will not be at the next set of TNA tapings due to being in a play in Scotland. So, we won't see him on TNA TV until March or so. I don't know how much to read into that as far as his commitment or lack thereof to TNA, but it's certainly worth noting.

Mick Foley is expected to have hip replacement surgery in the next few months, putting a hold on his role as Raw GM. Presumably Stephanie McMahon will do most of his on-screen duties while he recovers. I wish him the best. Hopefully after that surgery and all the weight loss, he'll be as free from pain as he can be.

The Takeover special before Wrestlemania 33 has sold out with roughly 14,000 tickets. That's impressive!

WWE has signed the former Andrea/Rosie Lotta Love, who was trained at the Team 3D Academy. Since her brief TNA stint, she has lost more than 120 pounds and been working regularly for SHINE. She actually had an appearance on NXT in October 2015, losing to Emma under the name MaryKate.

ROH has announced Dalton Castle vs. Bobby Fish vs. Jay Lethal for their February 3 event. There has been no word of Fish or Lethal signing new contracts, but seemingly they'll be sticking around for now.

ROH has released Taeler Hendrix vs. Mandy Leon as this week's WOH bout. I expect both ladies will be involved in the plans for the division going forward.

For my take on yesterday's PWInsider.com questions:
1. That'd be an easy way to go, but do they want to solidify the division as the stunt division? We'll see what they're thinking when the show gets closer.

2. I think they can still be in the tag team title picture, and there's nothing stopping them from going after singles gold! I definitely wouldn't split them up anytime soon; they're still a hot act and they've got a book coming out during WM33 season.

3. Probably that. Or they could be taped during the weekend if WWE wanted. I don't expect them to do live shows on those nights, but we'll see.

4. Statistically one would think it has happened, or will happen at some point.

5. I have wanted that for years. Say you're a CAW and you walk into a bar and Sheamus is fighting Mark Henry, and you end up involved. Or you can go to Taker's graveyard, etc. There are a lot of interesting possibilities for something outside the box. I mean, we got WWE Crush Hour after all.

More wrestling tomorrow.
