Raw Reax - 12/5/16

Read on for my thoughts on last night's Raw.
- Rollins/Owens:
I can't say I expected them to suddenly re-acknowledge Triple H's role in all of this. It felt like that was on the back burner.

Triple H is the final boss, I guess. What does it say that he's more important than the Universal Champion?

Seth looking to retire people who were world champions 15 years ago is an interesting angle. He did put Sting out. Could Jericho and HHH follow?

So this is what happens when you put two egotistical opportunists against each other.

Well that was interesting. Owens came across like he holds all the cards.

- Show returns:
I'm glad Big Show has lost so much weight! Good for him. He's motivated for one last big run.

- Rollins vs. Show:
Show looking dominant early.

Seth looking to do everything he can against such a force of nature.

They're definitely selling Big Show as someone who takes effort to beat.

Big Show isn't taking orders. In kayfabe, where the heck has he been? Did Foley and Steph give him a big vacation or what?

- Post-match:
I'm curious what the Universal Title picture looks like at the Rumble. Clearly Seth is still targeting the champ.

- Gallagher video:
I love Jack so much. He brings something different to the division.

- Gallagher vs. Ariya:
This guy does the throwback gimmick better than the Vaudevillains, for sure.

That handstand spot was hilarious.

This is pretty good. Silly, but good.

That wasn't bad at all! Welcome to Raw, Jack!

- Post-match:
BAH GAWD THAT WAS UNCALLED FOR.

- Titus backstage:
I hope they're going to follow up on Titus/Mark Henry and build to a match at Roadblock. Otherwise, there wasn't much reason to do it.

- Owens/Mick/Y2J:
Stephanie really slacking on the job, huh?

Mick should be pissed Jericho showed up this late into the show. After all the other wrestlers and the fans. That's just unprofessional!!

So, yeah, I'm guessing we get Kevin vs. Chris at the Rumble so Chris can go back to music. That's the right move. The people with more of a chance at being a contender can be in the Rumble match itself.

- Enzo/Cass/Lana/Rusev:
Choose your battles, Enzo!!

I'd pop for Summer Rae showing back up to be with Rusev again.

Oooooh Lana might be rethinking that marriage.

I bet Rusev will be in the hotel room to whip Enzo.

- Owens vs. Zayn:
Oh look it's THIS match again, because of course it is.

Owens can really move for his size.

Fine action so far.

Zayn can build momentum pretty well.

I'm loving Sami's suplexes.

This is pretty good! They know each other so well.

NICE exploder on the outside.

Good, good match. What's Sami doing at Roadblock?

- Y2J/Reigns:
Blehh. Roman's promos are uninspiring.

- Sasha interview:
I'm liking Flair giving the rub to Sasha without overshadowing her.

WHOA. Now THAT's a big match. I'm ready for it. They'll deliver.

- Swann vs. TJP:
I wish Rich got a promo or something instead of that meaningless Y2J/Reigns segment.

Check out our MOVES.

Both men are definitely incredible athletes.

They're telling something of a story here with Swann getting a little cocky.

I LOVE TJP using the kneebar. It makes him more than a flippy guy.

OH SHIT. That was a good ending.

- Bayley vs. Alicia:
Alicia's gotten a pretty good run out of being the go-to female jobber.

This is pretty solid. Alicia's trying to convince us her losing isn't inevitable.

Good for the time it had.

- Enzo/Cass/Rusev:
This isn't going to end well for Enzo...

Cass vs. Rusev is going to be a hoss battle like you wouldn't believe.

- Emmalina:
Glad this will finally pay off soon. Maybe she'll team with Tamina?

- Titus vs. Henry:
Well, that was quick! That could be Mark's last Raw singles match in his home state.

- Enzo/Ric:
I didn't know I wanted this until now!

Oh man. This could be fun!

- More JeriKO:
This has just enough gas in the tank to make it to the Rumble.

- Reigns vs. Y2J:
Fine action early.

Reigns is really talented. Granted, he's in there with a solid veteran.

Jericho's what you call a ring general.

This is quite good so far. Both men are bringing it.

NICE Codebreaker sequence.

Y2J is still as smooth as ever.

Owens always there for a friend.

Really good stuff here.

Nice ending. Hats off to both men.

- Rusev/Cass:
Yeah, you better go help your boy Enzo.

- Lana/Enzo/Rusev:
Well this is weird.

This isn't really the kind of thing I wanted to watch tonight.

They're going to need to pay for that hotel room!

Well that was something else!

- Club vs. Sheamus/Cesaro:
I'm begging someone to come up with an official name for Sheamus and Cesaro. Swiss Curse or something?

Not bad so far. I like the physicality.

Draft the Club to TNA or something. Sheesh.

This isn't bad at all. The Europeans make a good pairing.

Well that turned into a giant clusterfuck.

- Post-match:
Well this is fun for what it is.

I look forward to that match next week. I guess. It's a Club match. I'm ready for new teams in the mix, even if it's Bo and Titus or the Shining Stars or something.

- Charlotte/Ric/Sasha:
I hope Charlotte's lowering the boom and owns her dad.

Big promo from the former champ now.

There's some pretty good emotion going on here.

It'd be crazy to turn Charlotte face here unless they have a really good reason.

Based Charlotte. I can see her being a really big deal.

Charlotte's not going down without a fight!

Nice ending to the show. There's still one big war between Charlotte and Sasha.

More wrestling coming up.
