Read on for my thoughts on last night's Smackdown PPV.

-- Kickoff:
- New match announcement:
Fine with me to add those names to the card, especially American Alpha. They had a big showing against Bray and Orton. I believe the Usos and Naomi still have time of.

I wonder if this is a tryout for Peter Rosenberg.

- Natalya on the panel:
Nice to acknowledge Natalya's history in the gimmick match.

- Alexa in the lounge:
Pretty good so far.

I do think some feuds are stretching out a little too long in the brand split era.

I mean, it's not like Becky is the Old Era.

- A. Alpha/H. Bros/Apollo vs. Vaudevillains/Ascension/Hawkins:
I'd actually kind of like to see a Hawkins/Ryder feud. Or Hawkins and Reks or someone against the Hype Bros. It's an obvious route to take.

Viktor's not bad at all.

This is pretty enjoyable so far.

There's something lovable about Rawley despite how goofy he is.

Good tag team action here!

I kind of wish this match meant something other than "we really need a match on Kickoff. Who we got left in the back?"

I'm liking what we're seeing here!

- Slater/Rhyno vs. Bray/Orton:
I'm glad this isn't just destruction by the two bigger names.

I'm liking the heel work of The Viper and The Eater of Worlds.

Slater makes a good crash test dummy.

Bray and Orton make a pretty solid duo!

Rhyno's usually the big hoss, but he's in there with some pretty sizeable opponents.

NICE use of Harper. Family members make sacrifices sometimes.

The team of Bray and Orton could be pretty fun. They're both pretty talented.

Cool post-match. I'm glad they're finally a threat.

- Ambrose promo:
Dean more or less phoning it in again. He comes across as pretty burned out at times. He's not 100% slacking off, but he's not as hungry as he used to be.

- AJ promo:
Now THAT's how you carry yourself like a WWE Champion.

- Nikki vs. Carmella:
Oh SHIT Nikki's not playing around. I like it.

Carmella's trying, but she's just not ready to be a big part of things from a wrestling perspective.

They're making the most of this.

If you can do taunts and beat someone with furniture, you can be a successful wrestler.

JESUS they're going hard here.

This is something else.

Not bad overall. They turned it up pretty nicely at the end there.

- Carmella promo:
Oh, no. There's more?

Meeehhhhhhh. Don't really care, but I guess they had to set up Nikki's next feud.

- Miz/Bryan:
Based Miz throwing Yes-man under a bus. I love it.

That was good.

- Miz vs. Ziggler:
Ziggler does work really hard. He gives a lot for the company.

I love some ladder carnage here and there.

This is pretty big.

Ziggler takes an insane amount of punishment. I don't know if that's as good as a quality as he thinks it is.

Good GAWD Miz is putting him through the wringer here.

The champ's going all out on him.

That was one HELL of a bump by Miz. Just insane.

Only one man's going to survive at this rate.

That was really good. Hats off to both men.

How based can one champ be!?

That was just absolutely something else. Great work. It's a shame he can't really go much higher with AJ as WWE Champion.

- Corbin vs. Kalisto:
Kalisto giving no fucks and just throwing chairs everywhere is good.

Good to see some fire from Kalisto instead of just cool moves.

Sometimes a big guy throwing a little guy around is fun to watch!

GOOD GAWD ALMIGHTY that senton through the chairs! They're doing their best to make people care about this show two weeks after Survivor Series.

I'm liking this. Good to see something more than athleticism.

And Kalisto just wearing him the fuck out with a chair.

OH MY GOOOOOOOODDDDDDDDD that jump into a chair shot.

That was nice!

- Natalya interview:
Bleh. Fine enough, I guess. They're really going to be spinning their tires with this division given how few people are in it.

- Becky vs. Alexa:
I'm liking the fire tonight!

They're definitely not shy of big bumps here!

Lynch is quite talented, and Alexa's working hard to be at the level of people like her.

Bliss pulling a Matt Hardy there.

Alexa's just plain evil. I love it.

OH MY GOD a suplex on the side of a table would be really bad.

Becky's really impressing me lately.

All these table bump teases! Sometimes one spot can mean more than a dozen delivered spots.

NICE use of the DisArmHer.

This is good!

BAH GAWD WHAT A POWERBOMB!!!!!!

Now that was nice. Alexa has definitely earned that kind of win more than Carmella has. No complaints of her getting the win from a talent perspective.

- Becky promo:
That wasn't bad at all.

- AJ vs. Ambrose:
This is already wild!

No shock Dean's in his element here.

This is a fight. I like it!

Good GOD what a kick to counter Dean coming off the barricade.

More cheering for the heels. Uggghhhh. I get it; I'm just not a fan of it.

Damn. AJ's not exactly outclassed in the hardcore department here.

This is just brutal.

GOOD GAWD what a bump through the chairs by AJ. That was really scary. At some point, it becomes more about putting yourself in danger than the story of faces and heels. That's what's troubling.

"Just go out there and damn near kill each other!"

I can't think of much else to say. It's just incredible, crazy action.

Bumps on top of bumps here. Christ.

James Ellsworth out to screw AJ.

Based James preventing Wackyman from ruining AJ's great title reign.

Solid, solid show all around. A whole lot of carnage everywhere.
