ROH to Japan again, Sydal back in the U.S. soon, TNA scouting top team, UK woman likely joining WWE, Smackdown names given weekend off, WWE after UK names, possible UK WWE show?, WWE and FloSlam targeting indies for streaming deals, Raw name challenging for NXT Women's Championship, Interviews with Cody/Holly, note on TNA's tapings, TNA house shows coming back?, lots of Raws on the Network, 2017 PPV venue set, WWE-Hulu Plus changes, more WWE in Europe, and Questions on cruiser tag titles, Low Ki returning to ROH, HBK vs. AJ, Corino to WWE, and HHH at WM33

ROH and NJPW will have joint shows in Japan on February 26 and 27 for Honor Rising 2017. That's good for both sides. I expect more crossover in 2017, potentially with some ROH names making NJPW their home promotion.

Matt Sydal is expected to be able to return to the United States next week and resume his wrestling career. I would assume he'll go back to working with ROH.

TNA is interested in the Young Bucks. That'd definitely be a change of pace for both sides and shift the dynamic of where TNA and ROH are on the totem pole of the U.S. wrestling scene. I would think the Bucks would want to be able to still do NJPW, but maybe they're ready for something new. We'll see what happens as December rolls on.

Nixon Newell is in the process of signing with WWE should she pass medical testing, etc. That's a big potential step for the 22-year-old.

The Usos and Naomi were given off this past weekend's Smackdown live events. It's possible they were doing something for "Total Divas." At any rate, they weren't booked for the shows.

WWE is looking to pick up a number of names from their recent Scotland tryouts. There's a possibility of doing a special show featuring UK stars in that market. That would be a pretty big move to compete with rising promotions there.

WWE and FloSlam are interested in signing deals with outside promotions for streaming deals. Whether that materializes for either entity remains to be seen.

Asuka will defend the NXT Women's Championship against Nia Jax during the brand's international tour. That should be pretty good. Asuka's running out of credible opponents in NXT, so it makes sense to have some guests come in and work with her.

Cody discussed Final Battle and more:
- I'm glad he's able to make his own legacy. He has the financial security to be able to do so and focus on match quality/enjoying what he's doing.

- He's got an opportunity to get additional eyes on promotions that might not otherwise check out a place like ROH.

- Umm, WWE uses his father's name because they have the rights to that name. Cody doesn't have the rights to his fictional last name, so he has to use his real name.

- I'm curious how much Brandi will wrestle going forward.

- I guess he's OK with people honoring his dad with their impressions.

TNA's tapings between January 4 and January 10 will take the company through the end of March. I would assume they're planning on doing four sets of tapings in 2017.

TNA is planning live events for 2017, but there are no definite plans for dates and markets yet. Getting people regular dates is going to be important to make TNA a priority for those working the matches.

Bob Holly was interviewed by X-Pac:
- Holly got paid as Sparky Plugg. Turning it down might mean he didn't get a run with that kind of money.

- Backstage heat has killed so many potential money-making opportunities. That "I'm not losing clean to this guy. We're not friends" shit has hurt the business.

- Good thoughts on the state of women's wrestling.

WWE Network almost has the entire run of Monday Night Raw up until November 2016 available. That's a really huge accomplishment. There are still gaps on the Smackdown side, and of course Thunder is absent, but they're getting closer and closer to completing the libraries of modern promotions. It will be interesting to see where they go then. I would assume classic footage would have something of a limited audience.

Elimination Chamber 2017 will be in Phoenix, Arizona. The date has not been set yet.

205 Live has been added to Hulu Plus. Main Event has been moved to Thursdays on the service. So, I'm switching ROH and Main Event coverage. Not a huge deal.

WWE is touring Sweden, The Netherlands, and Denmark in May 2017. None of WWE's shows are on TV there. Hopefully the Network is doing well there and/or they get a new TV deal in those markets soon.

For my take on yesterday's PWInsider.com questions:
1. Sure! They'll need to establish teams and maybe add to the roster first, though. I'd definitely hold off a few months before making that move.

2. I'd kind of like to see it to shake up the somewhat stale ROH mix. They'll definitely need to have some big players involved if the likes of O'Reilly, Cole, and Lethal are exiting in the next six months.

3. If HBK wanted to do it and WWE made it worth his while, it could definitely happen and be a big deal. I think AJ vs. Taker is more likely, though, and serves a similar purpose.

4. Corino remains under contract to ROH for another month or so, so we won't know for sure until that deal expires. Legally, he can't discuss going to WWE while employed by ROH.

5. I'd like to see HHH booked as a different kind of heel than the "really cool badass in charge of the company who does whatever he wants and gets amazing Mania entrances." If he's going to be effective at getting people to boo him, the audience shouldn't be given reasons to envy him.

More wrestling tomorrow.
