New Day on popular game show, Lawler update, El Patron to teach perros, UK tournament commentary team expands, Interview with Alexa, Smackdown audience, Flair trailer, and Questions on Y2J vs. Owens, why big stars don't work with newer names in WWE, Ambrose being punished, an all-women's WWE PPV, and why WWE isn't must-see TV anymore

New Day will be part of the Let's Make A Deal episode airing December 23. I'm glad they're having fun and have become a hit.

Jerry Lawler's talent deal with WWE expires next month, but it's likely he'll get a Legends deal in order to do Hall of Fame ceremonies and special Network content. That's the right move for him going forward. He's a legend and has earned a lighter schedule.

Alberto El Patron will host a wrestling seminar at House of Glory on February 18. So, if you want to be in the dirtsheets for getting in a fight with a former WWE Champion, here's your chance!

Michael Cole, Nigel McGuinness, and William Regal will be doing commentary for the UK Championship tournament. I assume Nigel will join someone else doing play-by-play if it becomes a full show.

Alexa Bliss was interviewed before Tuesday's Smackdown:
- She makes the most of her size!

- The women's division is definitely improving. 2017 will be a big year with more NXT callups and some new faces joining the company.

- Cheerleading is a workout! It prepared her well.

Smackdown drew 2.64 million viewers, a pretty good bump from previous weeks. That's good. Hopefully next week's big show gets an even bigger number.

ESPN put out a trailer for its upcoming Ric Flair documentary. There's only one Ric!

For my take on yesterday's PWInsider.com questions:
1. I wholly expect Jericho to face Owens in the next few months, in the timeframe of WM33. He's sticking around longer than I expected him to. I wouldn't be surprised if he does a program with Balor and/or Nakamura as well before going back to doing work for Fozzy.

2. I would think WWE Management sees a big money dream match differently from the fans who love Samoa Joe. Even the fans who've started watching Joe in NXT are the minority compared to the number of people who know who Goldberg is. WWE only has guys like Brock, Sting, etc. for a few big matches, and they don't want to risk making less money on an "unproven" star. Obviously that's a Catch-22 because people can't get over if they're not pushed as mattering, but WWE's thinking of that short-term payday.

3. Shane's a pretty lenient boss, huh?

4. Not yet. The women's divisions could still use some building before that becomes something people want to see. Hopefully once more names come up from NXT and we see signings from the women's tournament, they'll get on a path to where that doesn't seem so farfetched.

5. I think a lot of it is WWE having so much time to fill each week. Even if they did something on the level of Game of Thrones or The Walking Dead, fans would get burned out from that much content. Plus there's a ridiculous amount of content on the Network, WWE video games, etc. When WWE does have a fresh matchup of compelling characters, it can only stay fresh so long before people want to see the next thing. It's tough!

More wrestling tomorrow.
