WWE signee says goodbye to indies, WWE off the air?, Gail visits troops, more ROH matches, Reigns can't keep a straight face, Mr. 450 asks for help, new Ride Along coming, DDP DVD cover, TNA audience, another Brock/Heyman date, meet new NXT star, and Questions on Dawson's shot at the IWC, Kane's whereabouts, praising Miz, and Trish returning

Kimber Lee worked her final appearance for Beyond Wrestling before joining WWE. WWE is expected to pick up a good number of women in 2017.

WWE programming could be temporarily off the air as NBCUniversal is at odds with Charter/Spectrum. This dog and pony show happens every so often. I don't think it will go longer than a few days into 2017. Both sides need each other.

Gail Kim and her husband met with troops on behalf of the USO. That's great!

The Briscoes vs. Pretty Boy Killers is set for ROH's next TV taping. That could be pretty fun.

Bobby Fish vs. Lio Rush has been added to ROH's February 4 show in Texas. So, Fish will be part of the company for the time being. There has been no word of him signing a new contract, so it looks like they're taking it date by date at this point.

Roman Reigns started laughing during a headlock spot with Kevin Owens at a live event as Owens was taunting the crowd. In Reigns' defense, he covered his mouth and tried to save face on Twitter by saying he was laughing as a response to Owens' taunts. Pretty funny, but I can see why people would be upset at him no-selling the headlock. Theoretically if you're OK enough to laugh, the hold isn't hurting that much.

- John Cena joined the banter.

- Reigns fired back. Fun times.

Mr. 450/John Yurnet, who was hurt during a match on the most recent 205 Live, is asking for help paying for knee surgery. There have been reports he was hurt before appearing on the show.

WWE Ride Along will air after Raw, featuring the tandems of Heath Slater/Rhyno as well as Daniel Bryan/James Ellsworth. The latter could be REALLY entertaining.

DDP showed the cover of his upcoming WWE DVD. 2017 would be a great year to put him in the HoF.

TNA's audience was 224,000 for the new year special. It was mostly a clip show, so that's to be expected.

Brock Lesnar and Paul Heyman are set for the January 16 Raw. I'm curious to see how they protect Brock and Goldberg in the Rumble, since I don't see either man winning it.

WWE introduced NXT's Tommy End. Glad he's keeping that name. I look forward to seeing what he'll bring to the table.

For my take on yesterday's PWInsider.com questions:
1. It's refreshing to see someone not caught up trying to get positive press on the Internet/star ratings! I wish more took the attitude that success in your promotion means more than having outside writers, influential as they may be, sing your praises. The majority of the WWE audience doesn't know who Dave Meltzer is, and probably doesn't care.

2. It's the New Era! Kane's almost 50, and has more than 2500 (!) matches to his name. He's there for special occasions and generally works live events, but WWE's focusing on other acts for the most part.

3. Ahhhh I love some banter here and there. I'm also in N.C. and don't do drugs and think Miz has really been great at getting heat. No, he doesn't do 450 splashes or suicide dives, but he's a really good worker due to his years of in-ring experience. His matches show good timing and psychology that's absent in matches featuring younger/newer wrestlers. "Ring general" might be a stretch, but certainly someone who can work with just about anyone. That's very valuable.

4. I don't think it's out of the question for one or more return match(es). It's a matter of all the stars aligning for everyone; it'd have to be something that meant a lot to both sides. If she wasn't pregnant, there's a possibility we could have gotten Trish vs. Asuka in Toronto, but it's impossible to know if that would have happened. Trish hasn't worked a match in five years.

Nothing to add to 5.

More wrestling tomorrow.
