Read on for my thoughts on last night's Impact Wrestling.
- Drake video:
Impact is doing a good job of building Eli as a truly global champion.
- LAX/oVe:
That Viagra reference was awesome.
This is going to be pretty hardcore.
The Crists could really use some friends if they're going to keep getting in fights with this many people. Sheesh.
They could have easily won the titles back right there, right?
- Rosemary/Taya:
This could be a pretty big feud.
Wow. Looks like Taya's going to be the new final boss of the division.
- Recap video:
Lots of videos already on this show. It makes me think they taped a lot of stuff involving Jeff Jarrett that had to be cut.
- Taryn/Gail:
I don't see Taryn winning the title, but I'm glad she'll have one last moment in the sun.
Taryn always GOES THERE with Gail. I like it.
It's a shame they're not having one last one-on-one match, but Gail's close to retiring and I imagine Taryn's just back for this feud.
That was mostly good to keep things going.
- Alberto package:
If Alberto isn't champion again by the end of the year, he'll surely win the title in January. Impact usually does a big live-ish show to start off the year, and that'd be the ideal time to do something major in the title picture.
- Sienna/KM/Texano/Konley:
Now this is a pretty odd mix of wrestlers. We'll see how well that all works later on.
- Park/Grado:
It's almost like they're trying to go a whole show without an actual match.
I love Joseph blatantly taking advantage of Grado in this scenario.
HAHAHA I like this.
Fun.
- Sienna/Texano/Konley vs. Allie/Dezmond/J. Storm:
I like how Sienna and Allie play off each other.
This is kind of a mess, trying to get over three feuds at once.
Hahaha Sienna taking advantage of Storm, too.
Kind of a surprise to see Dezmond clean house like that.
Wow. All that time before our first match and we don't even get a clean ending.
Not bad, I guess.
- International video packages:
Again, I like the work they're putting in to make Impact seem like a big deal globally. It's definitely nowhere close to what it used to be, but they're putting in effort to try to keep some prestige.
- LAX backstage:
Wow, these guys live the life, huh?
At least we'll see Homicide again! Could be one heck of a beatdown in Ottawa.
- Moose/ATT:
Damn. Moose is going to be on the news if he's not careful. I really hope Impact told local police they were doing this ahead of time.
- Impact vs. Garza:
Only two matches ON THE WHOLE SHOW.
Face vs. face matches aren't really my kind of thing when they turn into "look at how great of an athlete I am!"
Impact did a really cool move over the steps there. That's definitely his strength.
This is goofy.
A little too flippy for my liking so far.
Damn, Impact, what do you have to do to hit Starship Pain??
Both men doing really impressive work here.
Pretty fun back-and-forth ending.
- Post-match:
Impact vs. Drake is OK, but it doesn't really feel like a main event of a major PPV.
Adonis has to fight Eli's battles while he's off defending the title worldwide. I kind of like that.
- Moose/ATT again:
This angle has been a giant commercial for ATT.
Damn, Moose! Are you TRYING to be a target for the cops?
This definitely didn't paint Moose as the babyface in the scenario.
