NWA promotes its champion, Sting promoting WWE in Middle East, more on M.U.S.C.L.E toys, top lucha group signs deal with Amazon, more on Expo Lucha, JR book signings, Natalya breaks WWE female record, Shane update, WWE seeking another international manager, more NXT dates booked, Flair doc preview, Raw plans changed, Romero helping PR, ROH tournament matches set, Owens-Zayn continues, indie promoter injured, post-Raw dark match, and Questions on HHH's hires vs. Johnny Ace's, bullying Mickie, Roman's booking, Braun vs. Brock, and the Raw hierarchy

The NWA released a promo from its World Heavyweight Champion that aired this weekend on Championship Wrestling From Hollywood's TV show. That's the first step of the new direction from Billy Corgan and David Lagana; I'd think future appearances on that show are a possibility.

Sting will be part of WWE 2K18's launch party in Dubai on October 17. This is another promotion for WWE's upcoming live events in the area.

The WWE and lucha M.U.S.C.L.E. toys will be released in 2018. The figures have already had prototypes displayed.

Lucha merchandise licensor Masked Republic now has a deal with Amazon to promote its clothing and other accessories. Amazon will be cracking down on fake merchandise for those clients. That's great for names like Rey Mysterio who have official merchandise through MR.

Expo Lucha will feature four live events during Labor Day weekend 2018. It's shaping up to be a really big endeavor.

Jim Ross will begin a book-signing tour this Friday in Texas. I don't think "Boomer Sooner" will be well-received there, but I imagine a lot of fans will still be happy to see him.

Trish Stratus put over Natalya for beating Trish's record of PPV event matches. I think Natalya's well on her way to join her family members in the Hall of Fame. She has put in a LOT of work in WWE.

Shane McMahon is said to have neck trauma, fractured ribs, and a dislocated shoulder after HIAC. I assume most of his injuries are fictional, but he definitely really put his body on the line there.

WWE is looking for a global marketing manager with a lot of international responsibilities. That's pretty cool.

NXT has announced Texas live events on August 16 and 17 to lead to the Takeover special on August 18. Additionally, NXT has shows set for Pennsylvania and Maryland from November 30 through December 2.

Sports Illustrated previewed the upcoming ESPN Ric Flair documentary. That will be a big endeavor.

Asuka was originally set to face the winner of Nia Jax vs. Emma vs. Alicia Fox, but WWE changed that match during the day. That makes sense to protect Jax from a loss. Asuka vs. Nia was always solid in NXT; Jax is one of the only people who can physically be a threat to the former NXT Women's Champion.

- At one point, plans were changed to a six-woman tag with Bayley, Sasha Banks, & Dana Brooke vs. Nia Jax, Emma, & Alicia Fox. Presumably that wouldn't involve anyone going on to face Asuka at TLC.

- Another changed plan was Neville facing Enzo Amore in the lumberjack match.

Rocky Romero is auctioning a ring-worn outfit to benefit Puerto Rico. That's awesome! Great work.

Cody vs. Christopher Daniels and Jay Lethal vs. Matt Taven have been booked for the first round of ROH's Soaring Eagle Cup tournament on October 28. Cody has been on fire in ROH; I'm curious who wins the cup if he doesn't.

Kevin Owens assisted Sami Zayn at a Smackdown live event, so Zayn could beat Mike Kanellis. Owens then cut a promo about beating Shane at HIAC. I'm interested to see what's next for Sami in particular.

New England Championship Wrestling promoter Sheldon Goldberg has undergone surgery after falling and suffering five fractures in his right shoulder. That sounds really rough; I hope he gets back to doing what he loves soon.

Seth Rollins and Dean Ambrose successfully defended their Raw Tag Team Championship against The Bar after the show went off the air. Seth Rollins wore Kalisto's jacket and led a "lucha" chant early on.

For my take on yesterday's PWInsider.com questions:
1. I don't think he would have. Or if he did end up signing some of them, I doubt they'd get the kind of push they're getting now. Triple H's influence has definitely led to a bigger variety of WWE superstars on-screen.

2. Piggy James was REALLY brutal because Mickie was hardly overweight. Given the kinds of body image issues women face, I think it might have been over the edge. Obviously Laycool were heels, but.. damn. That was hard to watch. I don't see Alexa's bullying as being nearly that level. And I think WWE appreciates Mickie; they just think it makes sense for the disrespectful younger star to go after Mickie's age and experience. Mickie's been getting it pretty good on Alexa, too, so it's not like they're booking her to have the same skill level as an 80-year-old.

3. Some people are going to complain when he's booked strongly and when he's not booked strongly, but there has been overall positive reaction to The Shield reunion.

4. It definitely hurt some of Braun's invincibility. It's going to be tough booking him and Brock going forward, as that was the perfect opportunity to crown a new conqueror. I just don't see Roman being able to be seen as that level of a threat.

5. Seth and Dean are at a pretty high level, Braun's at a higher level, and Brock's at an even higher level than that. It doesn't hurt much to lose to someone who's as dominant as Brock or Braun, because pretty much everyone loses to someone that hard to beat. The New Age Outlaws did do jobs to guys like Austin and Rock, which made sense. Of course, Seth and Dean are a lot higher up than those two were. Also, again, Triple H has to book an hour of TV a week and a three-hour special every three months. Plus, most of HHH's projects are out of NXT within a few years. It's MUCH easier to protect people when you don't have to book nearly as many matches. HHH is playing on a lower difficulty.

More wrestling tomorrow.
