WWEPC signs international names, Interviews with Wolfgang/McIntyre, DDP self-help book coming, WWE celebration in NFL, and Question on WWE's cost-cutting

WWE has signed Indian wrestler Kavita Devi and the UAE's Shadia Bseiso in historic firsts for NXT recruits. Jinder Mahal made the announcement during a stop in India's capital. Both women will begin training at the WWE Performance Center in January. I hope each name is able to make her respective home country proud.

- Also during WWE's Indian promotional trip, Jinder Mahal met a local cricket star. The Indian shows will be big nights for the company.

Wolfgang discussed WWE's UK project and more. I hope we see more of key UK names going forward.

Diamond Dallas Page is releasing a nutrition/workout book in August 2018. Mick Foley has written a foreword to it. I'm sure that will be very helpful for a lot of people.

Drew McIntyre discussed his second chance in WWE. I really hope he becomes WWE and/or Universal Champion in the years to come; he's got the talent to do it.

An NFL player dropped the People's Elbow as part of a celebration, which Rock appreciated. Good times.

For my take on yesterday's PWInsider.com question:
It's worth noting Taker is still under contract. He gets paid a large amount whether he wrestles one match a year or fifty. Triple H also has a big performer's contract for his occasional matches. Other than that, it really comes down to the company spending a LOT of money on a very large roster for their various brands and tournaments. Network subscriptions are not at the level WWE wants them to be for the sheer amount of expensive content they provide. So, despite record revenue, their profits are slumping. Vince isn't the one who greatly expanded developmental and pushed for all these big Network-exclusive events, so he can't be blamed for them not driving subscription numbers. As for what this all means, I'd be VERY surprised if Vince sold the company unless he got to retain as much control as he has right now. I think it's more the fact they realize they've spent a lot of money and not gotten the results they were hoping for.

More wrestling tomorrow.
