Why WWE changed tapings, AEW looking to return to taping, why NXT name has missed shows, WM38 site update, WWE furloughs long-time employee, WWE-FS1 audiences, AAA interested in WWE releases, coronavirus-related wrestling press, more on Cody trademark, AEW signing official, NXT Japan update, Interviews with Big Show/HHH/Cena, Hogan movie update, Roman charity, ROH sale, Jericho appears with released WWE names, upcoming FS1 specials, Dream responds to allegations, WWE stock update, FNSD preview, and Questions on the 2020 HoF class' status, Russo vs. Cornette, Gronk's WWE future, and WWE promoting current content on ESPN and FS1

WWE's taping schedule change was due to USA and FOX giving WWE permission to continue airing taped shows despite the TV contracts limiting taped episodes. Of course it was painted as a "Vince changing his mind" story instead of one based on those contracts, but that's standard in wrestling reporting.

AEW is looking to return to Florida tapings on May 6. While they have content taped for weeks beyond that, this date will allow them to use talents who were grounded due to stay-at-home orders. Any leftover content will likely be repurposed for AEW Dark.

- The May 13 Dynamite will be taped on May 6, and the May 20 episode will be live. Double or Nothing is also planned to air from Florida.

Kyle O'Reilly has not worked NXT due to his diabetes.

WrestleMania 38 is being looked at for the site of WrestleMania 36.

WWE furloughed a long-time director, Kerwin Silfies, who first worked in the company in around 1984. Older, more costly employees saw a lot of cuts.

Becky Lynch's FS1 specials drew 119,000 at 7:00 p.m. Tuesday and 179,000 at 10:00 p.m. Tuesday. It was Charlotte Flair's FS1 special that drew 299,000 fans. Make of that difference what you will.

WWE Backstage drew 116,000 viewers this week, down from recent weeks.

AAA is interested in Lio Rush, Primo, and Epico. I expect Lio to do well post-WWE.

Coronavirus-related wrestling updates:
- AAA has postponed Verano de Escandalo to September 12.

- Dr. Wagner, Jr. has returned to AAA for the time being, as independent wrestling has taken a big hit.

- The Tragos/Thesz Pro Wrestling Hall of Fame is postponing its 2020 ceremony to 2021.

- Mexican independent wrestlers have met with government officials regarding being out of work. They had teased a protest.

Cody trademarking his former ring name is due to WWE letting the rights elapse.

Dark Order's Preston Vance has signed with AEW.

NXT Japan has been postponed indefinitely following WWE's recent cuts. That's smart. WWE has really thrown a lot of money at a lot of endeavors that haven't been profitable.

Big Show discussed wrestling Drew McIntyre and more.

Hulk Hogan's biopic got an update in a Chris Hemsworth interview.

Roman Reigns and Jimmy's Famous Seafood worked together on a Leukemia & Lymphoma Society fundraiser. Glad to see that.

ROH is doing a buy one, get one free merchandise sale.

Chris Jericho is on The Major Figure Wrestling Podcast with the former Zack Ryder and Curt Hawkins. I'm sure that will spawn plenty of AEW rumors!

FS1 specials for May 5 include:
- Ric Flair's Best WWE Matches at 7:00 p.m.
- Edge's Best WrestleMania Matches at 8:00 p.m.
- Brock Lesnar's Most Dominant Matches at 9:00 p.m.
- Roman Reigns' Best WrestleMania Matches at 10:00 p.m.

Vice's "After Dark" series will return following the "extended" versions of "Dark Side of the Ring" episodes. Basically with DSOTR expanding, the post-show is being curtailed.

Triple H spoke to ESPN and Newsweek about 25 years in WWE.

John Cena spoke to Men's Journal.

Velveteen Dream responded to allegations he shared explicit photos with minors. I really hope his version of events is accurate.

WWE's stock grew almost 15% after their conference call. Things look good for future quarters as more valuable TV deals kick in.

Friday Night Smackdown has announced:
- Dolph Ziggler vs. Otis in a Money in the Bank qualifying match
- Mandy Rose vs. Carmella in a Money in the Bank qualifying match
- Daniel Bryan vs. King Corbin

For my take on yesterday's PWInsider.com questions:
1. They haven't been forgotten about and are still considered upcoming Hall of Famers.

2. Given the threats made on Russo's life by Cornette, hopefully Jim would be taken into custody before he entered the room. I fully expect Cornette would look to get physical immediately, which is honestly pretty pathetic.

Nothing to add to 3.

4. WWE will undoubtedly address the title situation. He was only signed to do a few appearances, notably Summerslam in Boston. We'll see if that ends up happening. As for Fury, he was only signed for the one appearance.

5. ESPN and FS1 paid for the content they got, not original content. It already got WWE in front of an audience that wasn't already watching the company on those channels at those times.

More wrestling tomorrow.
