Bound For Glory preview

Read on for how I'd book tonight's Bound For Glory PPV.

It's no secret that TNA could use a big shot in the arm right now and should start building toward the future. Let's see what kind of magic we can work.

Pre-show:
Young and Park beat the BroMans and Bad Influence (this is considered an upset) before falling to Chavo and Hernandez in the finals of the Gauntlet. The point is to build Young and Park without them winning while setting up challengers to the Tag Team Titles. Bad Influence is going to be doing great things whether they're in the title picture or not. Theoretically there'll be a heavy Latino presence in the 619 and that will play in Chavo and Hernandez's favor. I'd have them cut a promo about how much the titles mean to them or something.

The pre-show ends by putting over the first match, Ultimate X. A big Jeff Hardy promo is the last-minute impetus to order the show.

Main show:
Let's go ahead and get a lot of the flippy stuff and sick bumps out of the way early. I personally like the idea of Sabin using Velvet on his way to winning the championship. Maybe he convinces her to pull Hardy off the structure or something. I know the IWC would hate it, but it really adds to Sabin as a heel and sets up a Hardy/Sabin feud. Sabin could use the boost after the time he's had this summer. I visualize Sabin/Velvet being something like Bryan/AJ as far as him using her to do dastardly things "if she truly loves him". Sabin celebrates on Impact (taking all the credit for his win) and beats Manik in Manik's rematch.

Ethan Carter III makes a grand entrance and does whatever his shtick is. He's interrupted by a returning Petey Williams, who tells him that TNA isn't about fancy cars, etc. but about WRESTLING. Ethan informs Petey that he's not dressed to wrestle, then decks him before leaving in smug heel fashion. I'd probably have Carter win a squash match or two before we get to EC3 vs. Petey.

Chavo and Hernandez have a miscommunication where Chavo wants Hernandez to cheat to win the titles and Hernandez doesn't want to. This leads to Gunner and Storm retaining. Depending on how things go, it could lead to Hernandez turning heel alongside Chavo or a Chavo/Hernandez feud. Either way, the two teams get more time to feel each other out before the tag title rematch. Presumably there's a one-on-one non-title match between a member of each team that Chavo or Hernandez win to earn that rematch.

ODB plays the underdog against the two heel challengers, but pulls out a win in true babyface fashion. Her celebration is short-lived as Lei'D Tapa attacks the weakened champ. Tapa leaves her in a heap and holds up the title. You can probably guess where this is going. I'm sure the match will be dreadful, but TNA doesn't have a lot of options right now.

Magnus gets a big win over Sting in a "passing the torch" moment. They shake hands after the match. This one needs enough time to tell a good story. I think Sting and Magnus beating Garett and Knux on a future Impact works. Sting eventually wants to see if he's still got "it" after being unable to beat Bully at Slammiversary or Magnus at BFG.

Angle vs. Roode is also a big match. This is one time I wouldn't mind each guy kicking out of a finisher. Bad Influence gets involved so Roode can steal a win. Heels win dirty, you know.

For the main event, Garett and Knux quit Aces and Eights rather than help Bully and Brooke's interference backfires. New champ, which infuriates Dixie. The show ends with confetti falling on Styles and Dixie freaking out on the ramp.

For (insert name for big November Impact here):
Chris Sabin (c) vs. Jeff Hardy - TNA X-Division Championship
Ethan Carter III vs. Petey Williams
James Storm and Gunner (c) vs. Chavo Guerrero and Hernandez - TNA Tag Team Championship
ODB (c) vs. Lei'D Tapa - TNA Knockouts' Championship
Bobby Roode vs. Kurt Angle
AJ Styles (c) vs. Bully Ray with Dixie Carter as the special referee - TNA World Heavyweight Championship. NO REMATCH.

For (insert name for big December Impact here):
Magnus vs. Sting. If Sting loses, he retires from wrestling in TNA.
Obviously more TBA depending on how things play out in the other storylines.

More wrestling tomorrow.
