Main Event Reax - 10/2/13, new BFG match, Interviews with Aries/Miz/Stevie Richards/Brie, Cena profiled and Questions on Santino, Hardy, Bryan vs. Taker, the TNA Hall and breaking the ring

Main Event:
I enjoyed the Sandow promo, but that's generally the case. It's really time for his character to be doing something of note.

Really not crazy about Santino vs. Sandow. Santino's good in small doses, but Sandow should be doing something more important and looking like a potential World Champion. What if Del Rio gets hurt and RVD goes on hiatus? Sandow doesn't look like he's ready to take the reigns as a Champion with how they're booking him.

Interesting stuff from HHH. I see Show KOing Bryan for Orton to keep the Title on Sunday.

Fine showcase for the Wyatts. I feel like they need a purpose. They're not really doing anything storyline-wise since getting rid of Kane.

The Wyatts play their roles well. I liked Husky Harris, but I never expected this level of performance from him. I hope he keeps getting better.

Fine match for Axel. Remember when this guy was facing off with HHH and Cena? He's definitely fallen down the card since then.

Axel vs. Truth should be good.

No promo from Zeb!? Come on now.

Not a bad main event at all. I'm really impressed by the Real Americans and Tons of Funk are better than they have to be with their gimmick.
Everything else from yesterday is after the break.

Bound For Glory will feature James Storm and Gunner defending the TNA Tag Team Championship against the winners of a gauntlet match set on the Spike pre-show. That match will feature Bad Influence, Bro-Mans, the team of Chavo Guerrero and Hernandez and the team of Joseph Park and Eric Young. I'm not really excited about any of those matches. I think Bad Influence would make the most of the opportunity, though.

Austin Aries talked about a number of TNA topics. He has an interesting take on a lot of things there. In order: 1. I know a lot of old-school people feel very differently about having so many shades of gray with characters not being clear-cut face or heel. 2. He's right about casual fans being really important to reach to - that, to me, ties in with characters being mostly consistent in their alignments. When someone DOES go from face to heel or vice versa, it should be a meaningful character arc. Obviously having some tweeners isn't a bad thing, but it can be really overdone. 3. The BFG Series was definitely convoluted. 4. As for ROH, there's definitely a transition from that style to WWE's style. Or from the two companies in general. 5. The stuff about hardcore fans is definitely true. They're incredibly difficult to satisfy at times, even if you give them what they say they want. 6. The Christy Hemme situation was BS. Way more outrage than was justified there.

The Miz talked about his current storyline as well as WWE's breast cancer charity work. The jury's still out on whether he'll ever be a top champion again.

Here are some highlights from a recent Stevie Richards interview. Thankfully they stayed away from his conspiracy theories.

Here's a story on John Cena's Make-A-Wish work. Really good stuff. Quite heartwarming.

Brie Bella was also interviewed. I enjoyed the "twin magic" gimmick when they first did it. Kind of cheesy, but it was a good story. I think both Bellas were rather green when they made it to the main roster, but obviously the gimmick took off and that's what allowed them to stay in order to improve.

For my take on yesterday's PWInsider.com questions:
1. I like some of his stuff here and there. Just generally not on a major show where time could be better given to other performers.

2. But if they give TV time to Hardy, that's less time they can give to Hogan, Dixie and the remainder of Aces and Eights!! I like Hardy well enough (not necessarily as a top act), so I hope once Hogan's hopefully gone and the Aces angle finally ends, we'll see him used more. I'd rather see him than Sting in 2013.

3. I'd be surprised, since Taker's a part-time guy and hasn't been in the WWE/World Title picture in a while. I'm kind of iffy on ending the streak, even if it's to put Bryan over.

4. That's a rather astute observation. Maybe so.

5. I still think that spot's awesome. I don't care that they'd already done it years before.

More wrestling tomorrow.
