Main Event Reax - 10/30/13, former Knockout retiring, Styles' AAA opponent, new reality show with former Diva/Knockout?, Interviews with Kaitlyn/Rhodes Brothers/Nikki/JR/Swagger/Stephanie, Bischoff ally update, TNA schedule update, who was and wasn't at WWE TV this week, WWE event profiled, Little Boogeyman pops up, Heel Dixie strikes again and Questions on making TNA old school, why viewers tune out, Taker vs. Bryan, Divas in the Cell and HHH vs. Y2J

Main Event:
I really liked Ryback vs. Kofi. Ryback's a pretty solid power competitor. I've definitely seen more limited big guys pushed.

Not really in the mood for Santino vs. Slater shenanigans at the moment. Not a bad contest, but not my cup of tea.

For those who keep score, HHH and Show first faced off in 1999 (in a Handicap match also involving The Rock). So they've got some history. This part of the story feels fresh, so I can't complain too much.

Well, at least Fandango went over. I'm really not a Hornswoggle/Khali fan.

I hope the people who hate "sports entertainment" are upset at the combination of flashy colored flippy guys and a little person in a bull suit. That was really something.

More wrestling coming up.

Former TNA wrestler Roxxi will be retiring in December in order to spend more time with her fitness career and her company. I can't blame her for going a route other than wrestling. Wrestling is by no means a "sure thing" as far as making money goes.

AJ Styles will defend his TNA World Championship against the former Judas Mesias in AAA. Pretty cool. That could be a big boost for both companies. TNA could have AJ "send footage in" of him wrestling in AAA or something.

The former Victoria/Tara could be the center of a new reality show. Might be interesting.

Former Divas' Champion Kaitlyn had an interview. Not going to lie, I miss the two-tone hair. I think a dynamic hairstyle really complemented her personality. The Kaitlyn/AJ relationship is pretty awesome.

Jason Hervey is still with TNA as a backstage interviewer. Not sure what that means for Bischoff's cole going forward as the two of them work together a lot.

TNA's 12/27 event, originally an Impact taping, will now be a live event.

Speaking of live events, TNA has a good number of them set for January. Yeah, TNA sure is close to dying.

Daniel Bryan has been pulled from his scheduled media appearances in order to sell the beating from the Wyatt Family. That's clever! I hope the outlets got someone in his place.

Neither Vince nor Stephanie McMahon were at the Smackdown taping. Triple H was in charge. I wonder how that went. He probably just "held the ship down" for the night without doing anything too different.

Paul Heyman was at both Raw and Smackdown, but not used. That makes sense given what happened at HIAC.

Scotty 2 Hotty visited at Raw. Sean Waltman visited at Smackdown. No, this doesn't mean WWE is bring the Attitude Era back (or either competitor). Scotty is now a fireman, while Waltman pops in from time to time if I'm not mistaken.

Here's a piece about WWE going to Tampa. It's right about wins and losses being secondary to the plot.

The former "Little Boogeyman" spoke about bullying. This was not a WWE event. I was trying to forget that gimmick.

Dixie Carter tweeted in-character about Howard Stern discussing the false rumor about TNA being up for sale. This is by far the most interesting angle Dixie's ever done.

Cody Rhodes and Goldust talked. Props to Goldust for the extreme weight loss. It's not easy at times.

Nikki Bella talked about her return from injury. Pretty standard stuff.

Jim Ross answered questions for a music website for whatever reason. I don't know if this was supposed to be comedic and awkward, but it was. The interviewer was really off his game, which made for some (inadvertently) fun times. I really liked JR's sense of humor.

Speaking of the Oklahoma Sooners, Jack Swagger was interviewed. I have no idea how he pulled all that off in college. Glad that HHH tapped Colter to be a part of Swagger's transformation. He's perfect in his role.

Stephanie McMahon talked briefly about the WWE app and the upcoming Network. We're in a vastly different world from the '90s.

For my take on yesterday's PWInsider.com questions:
1. First off, it's HEEL. As for "long old-school feuds", a lot of what made those work was that there was less TV time to fill and less big shows/title matches. So things didn't get stale as quickly. By the time Sabin challenged Bully Ray, the Aces and Eights angle was starting to show signs of fatigue. Once we got to the road to BFG, it felt like some of the longest shows ever because Bully had cut the same promo week after week for months. That said, I'd definitely like to see feuds built up better with more clearly defined heels and faces. As for edgy stuff, I think that really hit its peak and it's become too hard to try to top. No way would Spike let Bully Ray be the Bubba Ray Dudley of ECW.

2. There are some fans who watch for long matches and some who watch for the storyline aspects. It's like other sports: some people want to see a really "good" football game and others want to see a bunch of glitz and glamor like the Super Bowl where the quality of the actual playing isn't as important. Some people want to see a good hockey match and some want to just see the fights. I'm not suggesting that there should be NO wrestling on the show, but the stories should be the end goal.

3. Taker vs. Bryan could be pretty cool. Taker and HHH have a lot of history so it would make sense for Taker to stand up to him. I think we're in for Bryan/HHH and maybe Taker/Brock, but that doesn't make Taker vs. Bryan a bad idea. It'd be a pretty cool clash of styles.

4. WWE saves Cell matches for the top feuds on the roster (as they should). I can't really think of a Divas feud that had enough heat for HIAC. Cage matches? Table matches? Yeah, I can see that here and there. But HIAC is supposed to be THE gimmick match. A feud would have to be really high on the card to warrant inclusion there.

5. Remember that HHH's remarks were in character and meant to rile up the little Jimmys. Obviously the IWC Jimmys are upset. I think it could be argued that HHH was the top guy for WWE during the Evolution era, though there was also BBBRRRRRRRRRROOOOOOOOOOOOCCCCCCCCCKKK
LLLLLLLLLEEEEEEEESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSNNNNNNNNNNNNNAAAAAAAARRRRRRR.

More wrestling tomorrow.
