Query on Fandango's original dancer, Battleground notes, RVD update, WWE gets big award, Interviews with Thatcher/Aries/Mickie/Hogan, why Divas were paired, WWE GM going back to college, Smackdown audience, WWE champion injured, what happened after Raw, match made for Smackdown and Questions on Bryan vs. Lesnar, WWE not being as dumb as the IWC thinks, Raw dropping and Hogan vs. Austin vs. Cena

First up, a query:
1. I believe WWE replaced Fandango's original dancer because they wanted someone who was trained to take bumps and such. Enter Summer Rae. Here's a story on his previous dancer's whereabouts.

Bob Backlund was at the locale for Battleground for a paid photo op. He's quite the character.

There were a lot of "bullsh*t" chants in the arena for Battleground after the main event. WWE's job was to get people talking about the ending and tuning in to see what happens next. It looks like they succeeded on the first count at least.

Rob Van Dam is expected to take time off shortly. He has a very unique deal that allows him to work 90-day intervals before getting time off as needed. No word on when we might see him back. I wonder if this bit of news is partially why we're seeing Cena return so soon?

Everything else from yesterday is after the break.

WWE is set to be honored by the Sports Legacy Institute in conjunction with their work with concussion research.

The latest edition of Pro Wrestling 101 involves legendary trainer Les Thatcher. I like hearing a wise sage like him talk.

Austin Aries talked about THIS BUSINESS. Interesting words. I'd love for him to have a vegans feud against Bryan.

The AJ Lee/Tamina pairing is inspired by the HBK/Diesel pairing. I can definitely see some similarities as far as sizes go. I'm glad they've found a good use for Tamina. I think the team can work well.

Vickie Guerrero is going back to college for a degree in medical administration. It would be unfortunate if she got hassled all the time when doing classes. I hope people would give her space. Though it would be HILARIOUS if she did a presentation or something in-character.

Mickie James talked about WWE, TNA and more. I'm impressed that they know the word "alumna". Most people mess that up. She considers TNA "legit" and ROH an indie promotion? "Smarks" are going to be MAD. But I do agree with TNA needing to shift the focus to the younger stars and TNA Originals. I can justify having a few ex-WWE names around if they can still deliver (Angle, Hardy, Bully), but it's a case-by-case basis. Sabin's "push" was a joke. At least Bryan is treated as a top guy in his angle. I'd love to see an AJ/Mickie feud. And a Kaitlyn/Mickie feud for that matter.

The audience for the most recent Smackdown was 2.51 million viewers. Nothing too amazing.

Hulk Hogan talked ahead of a TNA taping he may or may not be at. Honestly, if he's not going to put anyone over except for himself, they're better off without him.

AJ Lee is believed to have suffered a concussion at Battleground. She has been pulled from any upcoming matches. She was scheduled to face Kaitlyn on Raw.

Triple H continued to sell being KO'd by Big Show after Raw went off the air. Orton came out to face Bryan, which led to a Shield run-in for a DQ. Babyfaces made the save and stood tall to close the taping. You'd think if they were "burying" Bryan, they'd just have HHH and Orton destroy him and call it a night.

Curtis Axel vs. R-Truth is set for Smackdown. I wouldn't be shocked to see a title change. Axel could use a new direction.

For my take on yesterday's PWInsider.com questions:
1. They believed Bryan could stand a chance against Mark Henry when they fought in a cage. I don't see why this would be too different. Obviously Bryan's an underdog, but by no means would he be an easy victory for Lesnar.

2. Yes, attack the person who can give you your jobs back. That totally makes sense in "real life". I really think Dave's just trying to work the IWC now. They're eating it up, for sure.

3. I understand both sides here. If they book Big E strongly in the follow-up, he'll be ok. I don't think there's much shame in losing to someone who stands a chance against BBRRRRRRRROOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCKKKKKKKKKKKKK LLLLLLLLEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSNNNNNNNNNNNNNNAAAAAARRRRRRRRRRRR.

4. I don't see why USA Network would care what kind of number TNA is pulling in if WWE still did strong numbers.

5. A few caveats here: No one man can be credited exclusively with WWE's success or failure in a generation. Also, Cena's career is still ongoing. After going national and becoming mainstream, what else is there to do? The current WWE is very successful worldwide, and some of that credit should go to Cena, so that's something. It's definitely not as easy as "Cena sucks. WWE sucks now." etc..

More wrestling tomorrow.
