Raw Reax - 10/7/13

Read on for my thoughts on last night's Raw.

Pretty good opening segment that played off some serious emotions, though how the heck is Show fired with his ironclad contract?

Nothing wrong with Sandow vs. Ziggler at all. They fought hard.

Clever for them to work in the power outage. I wonder who will be the authority figures once this angle's over?

Bruno Sammartino in-person on a WWE broadcast in 2013? Wow. That's still weird to see.

I've definitely seen worse Divas matches, though I really wonder where that match would have been without Natalya involved.

I really like the idea of fans choosing the special referee, even if it makes booking somewhat difficult.

Not a bad Week 2 for Los Matadores at all. They've definitely got pep.

Not a bad post-match either. The gimmick's silly, but they're making the most of it.

A little surprised to see Truth involved here, but he IS on the HIAC poster (and fought Axel last night). Otherwise, that was mostly a good segment.

I enjoyed the Punk/Truth vs. Heyman Guys match. Truth's still got it.

Bob Backlund is an interesting choice. Will the third Hall of Famer be Drew Carey?

Orton vs. Kofi was pretty good. Poor Kofi's going to stay stuck at that level for a while it looks like.

Pretty cool attack by Bryan. Getting the better of one of the most decorated champions of the modern era sure is one heck of a "burial".

I liked the Alberto/Vickie segment, as silly as it was. He makes some good points.

Awesome third choice. There's a lot of history between HBK and HHH, HBK and Orton, and HBK and Bryan. Sadly we'll never get that last pairing in a match.

Not shocked that the heel GM favors the heel.

WHAT!? He's supposed to be out until January! Also, Ricardo just pinned the World Champion. Ouch.

I guess Del Rio got his heat back there. Ricardo's actually gotten a decent amount of in-ring time lately for a non-wrestler (including live events and NXT. He also wrestles as El Local).

Not a bad "come down" match with Ryder and Fandango. I, like a lot of fans, are still getting over Cena coming back so early.

Bob Backlund got a higher vote count than Booker. lel. No surprise that HBK won.

Cool moment from Cesaro in swinging Khali. He and Swagger work pretty hard.

Interesting post-match. WWE is wacky for sure.

That was a weird MizTV segment. I guess there are worse things for the Wyatts and Miz to do.

What are the odds that Brad Maddox goes over Haitch?

I enjoyed the 6-man main event. It's pretty cool to see Goldust get another chance. I don't want him sticking around in a big role for long, but I like seeing him every once in a while.

Expert heeling by Orton.

Nice ending to the show. And they say HHH never sells.

More wrestling coming up.
