Impact title defended at indie show, Interviews with Jazz/Hulk, NWA title rematch set, Raw announce change permanent, top Impact name hurt, Jarrett and Impact meeting re: GFW, podcast notes, WWE HoFer at SD1000, WWE exec honored, new Foley merch, Matt Hardy addresses fan questions, another Arquette match set, Maria injury update, SDL match announced, major CMLL show on Honorclub, Raw cameos, and Questions on faces not helping The Shield, if we're in a boom period, and booking Braun as Mr. MITB

The X-Division Championship will be on the line at a Delaware independent event Saturday night as Brian Cage faces Franco Varga. That's good visibility for Cage and his title.

Jazz talked about WWE, Impact, and more. It's telling she hasn't been booked anywhere major in a while. I liked her work, but I don't think she'd be on TV at 45 regardless of her look.

Cody vs. Nick Aldis for the NWA World Championship will headline NWA's 70th Anniversary event. The NWA National Championship and NWA Women's Championship could also be on the line on that show. That show's a big opportunity for the brand, and for GFW/GFE by proxy.

Renee Young has replaced Jonathan Coachman on Raw's announce team, with Coachman returning to hosting Kickoff. That's a pretty important move. I'm curious if it will lead to any change in female viewership.

- Coachman tweeted an interesting response to being moved from the role. It sounds like he might have been caught off-guard by the change.

Johnny Impact is working through an unspecified injury. I hope that doesn't ruin Impact (the company)'s long-term plans for him. I'd think there's a chance he'd face and defeat Austin Aries at BFG.

Jeff Jarrett and Impact have had discussions regarding the GFW lawsuit. Impact has not officially responded in court. I hope they can work something out in a timely and inexpensive manner.

Hulk Hogan discussed nWo vs. The Shield and more. The nWo got by more on their gimmick than The Shield has. Reigns, Rollins, and Ambrose were young and hungry and really busted their asses. Hogan, Nash, and Hall were all established guys creating another lucrative chapter for themselves.

Bob Holly is on Steve Austin's latest podcast.

Lanny Poffo discussed All In weekend on his latest podcast. It was good to see him with Lethal again.

Edge is booked for Smackdown 1000. He was a key part of the show for many years.

WWE's senior vice president of community relations was named one of SportsBusiness Journal's Game Changers of 2018.

Mick Foley got a new T-shirt before his Raw appearance.

Zelina Vega is on Lilian Garcia's latest podcast.

Matt Hardy answered fan questions. He also indicated Woken Matt Hardy was working some final dates. As always, that could just mean he'll do a different character when he's next in the ring there. I wouldn't write his in-ring career off just yet.

David Arquette will wrestle in New York this weekend, taking time off from filming a movie nearby. Arquette is also part of a documentary chronicling his return to wrestling. It's good to see the former world champion's comeback tour being given its due.

Maria Kanellis has had the cast taken off her broken wrist.

Smackdown Live will start with Shinsuke Nakamura vs. Jeff Hardy for the United States Championship. Orton's return has all but eclipsed Shinsuke.

CMLL's 85th anniversary show will air on Honorclub on September 14. That's a nice bonus for subscribers of the service.

Wildkat Wrestling's Buku Dao was the wrestler attacked by Braun Strowman backstage Monday. That promotion's Johnny Flex and Nathan Bradley lost to the Authors of Pain. Who knows? Maybe those appearances will be considered Hidden Gems someday!

For my take on yesterday's PWInsider.com questions:
1. A reasonable answer is that the heels had all coordinated the beatdown beforehand, and by the time a group of babyfaces could figure out what was going on and potentially band together, it was too late to save those three. And really, I could see them not wanting to be on the receiving end of that kind of punishment themselves!

2. Certainly from a financial standpoint WWE and ROH are doing better than they've ever done, and NJPW is doing better than it's done in quite some time (especially outside of Japan). People are really excited for the ring work, as well. I agree we need to see where things go in the months and years ahead, but things definitely look good for the wrestling scene compared to years ago.

3. If Braun does lose, it's to elevate Roman and get his title reign off to a good start after finally defeating Brock.

4. Because he gets Roman trapped inside HIAC. It could also be arrogance because he's sure he'll win.

5. That's pretty much what they did with Brock, although of course he was on a part-time schedule. After more than a year of a heel champion beating everyone, I could see WWE changing direction and having Roman hold the title for a while as a face.

More wrestling tomorrow.
