Rock's father getting a movie, upcoming Network collections, Podcast notes, Bray teases new direction, WWE tie-ins, Final Battle set, assorted WWE press, Impact audience, Cody writing book, first MMC matches set, Raw+NXT live events set, Dream EVOLVE match result, and Questions on a NJPW Raw, veterans at Evolution, Becky as the new Bryan, and why WWE turned Braun

The Rock's father is the subject of an upcoming biopic. Somewhat surprisingly, The Rock isn't attached.

WWE Network is planning two new collections, covering Curt Hawkins' losing streak on September 17 and The Undertaker/Triple H rivalry on September 27. I love the running gag with Hawkins. He needs a WWE Network or YouTube series.

Chris Jericho discussed All In on his latest podcast. Jericho continues to revolutionize.

Chelsea Green is on Edge and Christian's latest podcast. I'd love to see WWE pick her up. She's shown some real range.

Bray Wyatt teased a new direction. Obviously a lot of people want to see him work with Harper and/or Braun again. I just worry Bray, Luke, and Erick are going to go through a constant shift of being together and apart.

WWE and WizKids have announced a multi-year licensing partnership. Another win for PG WWE. I'm interested in seeing what comes out of that.

ROH Final Battle has been confirmed for December 14 in New York City, returning to the Hammerstein Ballroom. That's something of a surprise with Supercard going to be in the same area.

Seth Rollins promoted Raw. I think he can be a franchise player for years to come.

WWE is teaming with DraftKings for a fantasy football contest. That's kind of an odd combination.

Impact Wrestling drew 236,000 viewers Thursday night, making for six straight weeks below 250,000. Whether those numbers are good enough is up for POP to decide.

Cody is writing a children's book. That's awesome!!! Again I ask why he'd go back to WWE when he can do this outside of it.

Drew McIntyre promoted a Raw live event.

MMC Season 2's first episode will feature Braun Strowman and Alexa Bliss vs. Kevin Owens and Natalya as well as AJ Styles and Charlotte Flair vs. Jimmy Uso and Naomi.

NXT stars and Raw stars met children dealing with cancer.

At NXT's September 7 live event in Florida:
- Tony Nese defeated Kona Reeves. Damn. Kona can't even beat someone who's just on 205 Live.
- Danny Burch and Oney Lorcan became number one contenders to the NXT Tag Team Championship after defeating The Street Profits.

At Raw's September 7 live event in Alabama:
- Bobby Roode and Chad Gable defeated Jinder Mahal and Mojo Rawley, so the Roode/Gable pairing at least lasted that long.
- Matt Hardy teamed with Bray Wyatt in a triple threat tag team match where Dolph Ziggler and Drew McIntyre retained their championship over the Deleters and The B-Team. Matt seems to be

At NXT's September 7 live event in Pennsylvania:
- Vanessa Borne returned to action on this loop after not being in action since August 3. On this event, she teamed with Shayna Baszler in a surprise loss to Candice LeRae and Nikki Cross.
- Tyler Breeze defeated Dan Matha

Veleveteen Dream defeated Austin Theory at EVOLVE 112, and teased an eventual rematch in NXT.

For my take on yesterday's PWInsider.com questions:
1. Very small unless a major network offers them a lot of money to do it. Both companies are driven by their live events. NJPW doesn't have that big of a TV presence in the U.S. yet, and what they do have is largely just broadcasts of their live shows. ROH is focused on local syndicated programming, so that factor would come into play with any additional TV content. Of course, there's also the issue of what time it should air so it can be seen both in the U.S. and Japan. New York's 8:00 p.m. is Tokyo's 9:00 a.m. I expect more NJPW expansion in the U.S. and more NJPW content on AXS in 2019, but I really don't see a "Raw" happening anytime soon.

Nothing to add to 2.

3. I think the show should have a mix of veterans who can still go, up-and-coming stars, and established names getting to show what they can do. It's a special event and should be treated like one. Of course, it's worth noting they're trying to draw a big crowd and it might be hard to do that without some of the veterans. All that said, I definitely don't want a case where they just bring in people with name value that can't hang with today's stars and ultimately take time away from solid wrestling.

4. It's definitely a case of WWE thinking most of the audience will be behind one superstar while other parts of the audience are more in favor of a different superstar who doesn't fit the stereotypical WWE mold as much. I'd love to see Becky get a big push out of this. Charlotte hardly needs the title or wins to be over.

5. WWE wants Roman as Raw's top face. As such, he needs top heels to work with. WWE's willing to potentially cut Braun off if it means Roman can continue to be their centerpiece star. As for The Shield, it made sense for Dean to help Seth against Drew and Dolph and maybe those two figured while they're working together, they should just reunite with Roman, too!

More wrestling tomorrow.
