Dynamite Reax - 10/2/19

Read on for my thoughts on last night's Dynamite.
Before critiquing this show, I want to give credit where it's due. AEW has accomplished more in ten months than some companies achieve in ten years, and they should be commended for that. Their existence has led to new excitement in the wrestling business, and many, many people are taking notice of what they're doing. Something really special is about to unfold here, and I look forward to covering it.

- Cody/Sammy video:
Simple but effective. Glad to see it.

- Cody vs. Sammy:
Fine start.

I like what both men are bringing here.

NICE springboard cutter counter.

Ha. Fun spot with Brandi.

Correction. Fun spotS with Brandi.

That was all good.

- Post-match:
Haha didn't take long for Jericho to appear.

Yeah they're clearly establishing Jericho as a heel.

Cody vs. Jericho could be really fun.

- MJF promo:
Man these fans are eating up Generic Heel Template.

- Cutler vs. MJF:
Ooh. Interesting. Looks like Dynamite might have its first injury.

- Smith/Mewes/Evans/Angelico/Party:
Fine to establish who the heels and faces are.

- SCU/Bros:
Yeah I'm already pretty bored with SCU as characters playing the hits.

That should be a pretty good match.

- Page vs. PAC:
I'm glad we finally got this match.

Glad to see how physical this is.

Props to PAC for getting out of 205 Live hell. I'm sure others would like to join him here.

This is pretty nice.

I really like PAC's finisher. Nice work here. He can be a player.

- Nyla vs. Riho:
Good story.

Wow. A little surprised Nyla's going for a chair.

Nyla needing chairs to beat someone that much smaller than her is kind of an odd move.

I like this.

This is heating up!

Good work!

- Post-match:
Interesting for Omega to be involved here. Makes sense, though.

- Omega/Bucks vs. Jericho/Ortiz/Santana:
NICE to see Moxley involved.

This is all cool.

Omega vs. Moxley should be intense.

This feels big.

HOLY SHIT that Meltzer Driver counter.

Big win for the champ.

- Post-match:
AAAAHHHHHHHHHHHH cool to see Hager here.

Now this is nice. I like how this is all fitting together.

Very good closing angle. AEW feels pretty big in week one.

More wrestling coming up.
