Averno-WWE update, TMZ picks up Hardy story, update on Scott Hall, Questions on Ziggler's "new look", TNA's championships, what's next for A-Ri, a Divas' Money In The Bank, more on All Wheels Wresting, A-Ri brand update, and a house show note

Lucha star Averno is doing a press tour in Mexico to reassure everyone that he's not leaving for WWE, goig as far as to have his father retract the statements affirming that. It's believed to just be smoke and mirrors to sell his mask vs. mask match later in the month.

TMZ has picked up the story regarding the Harys' tasing video.

Scott Hall is said to be doing "much, much better" recently. That's good to know.

PWInsider.com has some new questions. Here are my thoughts on them:
1. Props to whoever sent that question, because it's hilarious. I don't think I've seen anyone who liked the change in hairstyle. My guess is that it was designed to make him look more like a serious contender, but it took a lot from what makes him stand out. Someone at a restaurant confused him with Zack Ryder! Hopefully he gets it back like it was and we can put that look in a crate and send it off like they did with him in the Spirit Squad. Hard to believe this is the same guy who was World Heavyweight Champion earlier in the year.

The rest of the day's questions and news is after the break. First up, are TNA's Championships meaningless?

2. I thought about this not too long ago: WWE has 6 championships across 2 brands (4 hours of TV time excluding the internationally-aired NXT and Superstars). TNA has 6 for 2 hours of TV time a week, and I believe they're adding another one for Xplosion. The idea for that title is that you can challenge for one of the other titles on Impact Wrestling. I get that they're trying to make people look more important by giving them championships, but too many that aren't defended well don't mean much. Yes, at the end of the day, titles are props, but they're props that should be treated very importantly. I mean, the Olympics' gold medals themselves aren't that special; it's the competition that results in chasing them that makes them mean something.

What happened, you ask? TNA's Creative team doesn't see them as that important. If you didn't watch Reaction (and I wouldn't blame you), Hulk Hogan basically called them "fake belts" once. And they wonder why we don't care about some of their title matches. Not that WWE couldn't do better than they are at making them matter, but compared to TNA they're doing pretty well.

3. I wouldn't mind that in the least once the feud with Miz is wrapped up. I'm more concerned about where the New Nexus goes without him, though.

4. Doubt it. They're not really known for ladder match style shenanigans. Ditto their comment about bumps.

They hit the nail on the head on #5, so I'll just point at their answer and say "that".

TNA-owned All Wheels Wrestling will have its Speed Network pilot taping on 6/29. NASCAR's Hermie Sadler is also helping with the project. Not much else is known on the product at this time (e.g. the concept, what talents will be involved).

Alex Riley is still working house shows for the Raw brand, and is still listed on the brand's page at WWE.com, so it looks as if WWE's ignoring his drafting to Smackdown. I don't have a problem with them keeping him on Raw to feud with Miz, but little inconsistencies like that can be frustrating. I know they had an explanation for this, but it didn't seem to make much sense. Not a big deal either way.

NXT Season 2 (and FCW)'s Percy Watson once again worked a Raw house show this weekend. It's like he's stuck in purgatory. If the extra time helps him when he debuts, it's for the best though.

That's all for Saturday's news. I'll be back tomorrow with a preview of Slammiversary and all of Sunday's news. Thanks for reading!
