Chyna-TNA update, Flair talks World Titles, Questions on JR's 1996 heel turn, Divas division idea, and Savage and Vince, Reid Flair and R-Truth interviews, Linda McMahon update, WWE teases Shaq vs. Big Show, WWE's Hall of Fame update, Ventura talks, update on Angle and the Olympics, Brock Lesnar Q&A, and the Impact Wrestling rating

According to TMZ (and reposted by credible sites), TNA will cease contract negotiations with Chyna if her new adult film is actually released. Apparently a number of pictures and clips are already out, but not the full thing. TNA's opinion on the matter isn't expected to affect the release. I think the sooner we can move on from that topic, the better! As far as a Chyna comeback, the angle with Karen seems wrapped up (since she fell down the stairs on Impact Wrestling last night), so I don't really see a reason to bring her back.

Here are snippets from an older interview with Ric Flair that were cut from the WWE Championship book. Always cool to see things like that that didn't make the final draft. Good insight as well.

PWInsider.com has some new questions, as always. Here's my take on them:
1. My guess as to why he didn't answer is because he didn't like the angle/thought it was a dumb idea. Not that many would disagree.

2. Absolutely. I think AJ could also be a good choice to face her in a similar role as Taylor Wilde or Gail Kim from her run as Awesome Kong. Naomi could have gotten a decent shot at her, too. But, the pregnancy changes all that. My hope is that they build the Divas up over her absence so everyone has a better chance against her, and more experience to have better matches with her as well.

More answers and news after the break, starting with one on the age-old tension between Randy Savage and Vince McMahon.

Nothing to say on 3, so we'll move to quite possibly the most frequently wondered-about thing in all of wrestling. I should preface my answer by saying there might not even be a "definitive" reason. Only McMahon would know that. BUT there have been some theories. There's one that's absolutely (in)famous on the web involving Stephanie McMahon, but that could very well just be one of those urban legends like there being more than one Ultimate Warrior or Kane not always being the same guy under the mask in his original run (both are false).

Roddy Piper stated that it stemmed from Savage hitting Vince in a bar once. Yes, Bret Hart also got in a physical altercation with him, but those two mended after Bret's concussion and stroke. Savage was a very private man, so he and Vince never reconciled.

There's also the fact that Savage left for WCW. Yes, plenty of people did that, but apparently this one hit him harder than the others. He had given Savage a big on-screen retirement, and felt like Savage was "his guy" in a way, and then he went to the competition. As I mentioned, Savage never came back and had that conversation with Vince to smooth things over like Bret did.

So take from that what you will. Hopefully one day we learn what actually happened, so we can put the whole thing to rest.

Nothing to add to #5, so we'll move on.

Reid Flair, Ric's son, was interviewed recently. Nice read. I haven't heard about his time in FCW.

The Fayetteville Observer promoted an upcoming Raw house show with an interview with R-Truth. Good promo piece. He put himself over, his opponent, his match, and the show itself. That's how you do it.

Linda McMahon is expected to decide on whether to run for a Senate seat in Connecticut within the next month. There has been nothing to suggest a return to WWE is in her future.

WWE is playing up the idea of the recently-retired Shaquille O'Neal coming back to the company to face Big Show. There'd definitely be interest in that one.

WWE is in the planning stages of its physical version of the Hall of Fame. Awesome.

Jesse Ventura talked recently about a number of wrestling subjects, including the passing of Randy Savage.

Kurt Angle has brought up his Olympic quest in media appearances promoting TNA's tour of Britain. The 2012 Olympics will be in London.

Brock Lesnar has a Q&A up with Sports Illustrated, where he talks about a number of topics including some that are WWE-related.

Impact Wrestling did a 1.08 on Thursday night. It was going up against the NBA Finals, so a drop isn't all that surprising. That's a shame, though, as the show was one of the best they've had in a while as far as in-ring action and focusing on some newer, younger names goes.

That's all for Friday's news. More to come this weekend. Thank you for reading!
