Queries on David Hart Smith and wrestler piercings, Riley DUI charges dropped, more details on TNA's All Wheels Wrestling, Questions on Foley's status, Cena/Cole heat, the Raw GM, Savage in the Hall, and entrance music during run-ins, Batista update, Sheamus and Kelly do a good deed, Samoa Joe chats with TNA fans, Bound For Glory Series match at a house show, Chyna interview, Low Ki looks to trademark TNA name, former head of WWE Films passes away, and the dark match for Capitol Punishment

First up, some reader queries:
1. David Hart Smith is still with WWE, on the Raw brand. I don't really know anything beyond that, as I don't remember having read his name in quite some time! He might still work house shows with the company (a common tactic to get a lot of people on the show is to do a battle royal with the winner facing someone else later in the night), but as far as I know they're just simply not using him on Superstars or Raw. I've always liked his work; he can definitely fit in a U.S. or Tag Team title level feud and has potential to go higher than that. At 25, his best is almost certainly left to come.

2. Apparently there isn't a policy on wrestlers having piercings on during matches in WWE (or TNA for that matter). You'd think that'd be pretty dangerous, but they are trained professionals...

The DUI charges against Alex Riley have been dropped because there wasn't probable cause for the traffic stop. Hopefully he doesn't drink behind the wheel again regardless.

Here's the latest on the All Wheels Wrestling taping. As best as I can tell, it's going to be a separate entity from TNA/Impact Wrestling as far as talent and angles go, but that's not a sure thing. Former WWE star Aaron Aguilera (who played Carlito's bodyguard Jesus), Sonjay Dutt, and the recently released Jay Lethal have all been confirmed for the first taping. Maybe there's something to that last name being mentioned on TV after all?

After the break, I look at the rest of the day's news, starting with PWInsider.com's questions. The first one asks about Mick Foley possibly returning to WWE.

1. The last I read from him suggested that if he isn't done receiving checks from the company now, he will be shortly. There's definitely plenty of support for him to go to WWE, either as the Raw GM and/or doing something with The Rock, and he's aware of it. McMahon's a tough guy to read, but Foley is of the mind that his book being plugged by WWE was a peace offering (not to mention his donations to Foley's RAINN work), so another WWE return is definitely not out of the question.

2. It's more like "these guys are getting tons of reactions from the WWE audience; we'd be stupid not to play off of that". Similar to Vickie Guerrero. It's definitely better for them than if no one was getting those reactions and the audience sat on their hands. As far as Cena "sucking", his job isn't to steal the show with high flying and/or technical maneuvers. It's to get the crowd into his match and storylines. He's one of the company's top reaction getters, so it's obviously working.

3. Sorry, that reference is at least a few years before my time. Though (a small) part of me wants the GM to be the computer itself having become self aware (Well, the program anyway... It can go from computer to computer since some of its "hosts" have been smashed), I'm starting to wonder whether Theodore Long would be a good choice for the role. I seem to remember them trying him out on Raw before and it not being the right fit, so maybe not. Honestly, it doesn't have to be anybody. It's just a plot device to move the stories along.

4. How about this for a compromise: they put The Rock in the night before the Miami Mania, and then in a special one-time November induction announced at that Mania, put Savage in (either alone or with Miss Elizabeth) the weekend after what would have been his 60th birthday?

5. They gave the answer about watching the monitor. And they get cues like "hey, the camera's zooming in on (someone in the crowd, a wrestler's face when he's in a submission, etc.)" that way. As for entrance music, someone had a pretty cool kayfabe ("WWE logic") explanation for it: there's someone in the Gorilla Position (the producers' booth near the back of the entrance) who seems them running in, and gives the people in the back the cue to play their music to get the crowd excited for them coming down. They really give up too easily in coming up with answers to some of these kayfabe questions.

Batista has opened his MMA gym. The article touched a bit on his status with wrestling.

Sheamus and Kelly Kelly visited a boy with cancer. They should get a gold star for that.

TNA had a chat with Samoa Joe on their website today. For some reason no one has a recap of this.

Speaking of TNA, they had another match in the Bound For Glory Series at a recent house show. It will be covered on Impact Wrestling, thank goodness. That's actually a clever idea to get people to go to house shows; the matches actually mean something in the grand scheme of things! Also I'm now realizing that I'll have to take Series standings into account for fantasy booking PPVs. Oh, joy. I prefer the KISS principle in booking (and most other things for that matter).

Chyna talked TNA, WWE, Eddie Guerrero and some non-wrestling topics in a recent interview. I don't see either company calling any time soon.

Low Ki has applied to trademark his former TNA name "Senshi", which the company never tried to trademark. In other words, WWE could have called him that if they so chose (and Low Ki agreed to it) and TNA wouldn't be able to do anything about it legally. As far as I know, the Kaval name is trademarked by WWE.

The former president of WWE Films, Joel Simon, passed away Sunday after a four year battle with pancreatic cancer. I wish the best to his friends and family.

Finally, the dark (meaning untelevised) match before Capitol Punishment saw Santino Marella and Vladimir Kozlov defeat Heath Slater and Justin Gabriel.

That's all for Sunday's news. I'll have more tomorrow after the 3-hour Raw. Thanks for reading!
