Three matches announced for Destination X, Melina explains video, Al Gore talks wrestling (seriously), Lawler interview, Jarrett covers winning the AAA title, TNA's business, his angles with the Angles, anti-bullying and more, Questions on refereeing, Angle vs. Jarrett, Sting vs. Steve Borden, and guest hosts, more on HBK/Hart DVD, captains for AWW teams revealed, Impact Wrestling rating, another Waltman Q&A, poll for a new Zack Ryder shirt, new WWE jobs, and WWE changes location of TLC

The following matches are officially set for Destination X:
AJ Styles vs. Daniels (Samoa Joe is expected to be added later as per the storyline)
Rob Van Dam vs. Jerry Lynn
Abyss vs. Brian Kendrick for the X-Division Championship.

That last one's a little weird, but it could work. It could also be changed between now and 7/10. Also on the show will be an Ultimate X match and a 4-way match for a TNA contract between Austin Aries, Zema Ion (who won on Impact Wrestling), and two opponents TBD.

Melina explained her recent video about Gail Kim. As I've noted, I like when storylines branch out into social media, as long as everyone understands it's part of the show.

Former Vice President Al Gore used wrestling metaphors to discuss climate change in a Rolling Stone article. It's pretty much just at the beginning of the article. I won't go into the non-wrestling stuff because that's not what this blog is about.

Jerry Lawler spoke on a number of topics in a multiple-part video interview with the Baltimore Sun.

Jeff Jarrett gave an interview to a NASCAR blog of all places. The author knew his wrestling, though, so it gave some insight into a number of TNA issues. Anything credible I've heard about TNA's profitability over the last few years has been consistent with what Jeff said.

After the break, I go into all of the day's PWInsider.com questions and the rest of Friday's news.
1. I don't think I'd make a good referee in the traditional sense. I'm over 6' and I think wrestlers should generally be bigger than (or close to the size of) the referees ("little people" excluded). I also think they should generally go with people trained in the role, seeing as how refs are usually used to keep the tempo of the match and receive instructions from people in the back if need be. Part of me would want to do it, but only if I could do the job the same or better than someone else used in the role.

Nothing to add to #2.

3. To me at least it looks like it could be over now. They just got one last skirmish to write Jarrett off (?) for a while. I'd be somewhat surprised if they went back to their feud on a big way any time soon. Angle's the #1 Contender, so after Sting gets his rematch, Angle will likely be next in line.

4. It does to me. I remember an angle years back where "Sting" left the company, but he was tracked down out-of-costume/paint and referred to as Steve Borden. He came back to the company under that name for a little while, then went back under the paint. So, to a degree, I can see how people would separate the two. It's not much unlike Amazing Red and Sangriento or Daniels and Curry Man, except sometimes they still call him Sting.

5. Pretty much what they said. The idea to do it weekly was scrapped some time ago, but if they want a special appearance here or there they'll do it.

The DVD on Bret Hart and Shawn Michaels will feature all of the matches between the two, and go into a lot of their off-screen issues as well. It's not solely a "Montreal Screwjob" DVD as some interpreted.

All Wheels Wrestling has revealed its captains for its 4 teams:
Team Octane will be led by J.R. Lethal (Jay Lethal masked)
Team 720 will be led by Schwagg Dutt (Sonjay Dutt) according to the picture. This could be changed as the result of Dutt's UWF contract.
Team Dyno will be led by "The Human Cyclone" Awesome Aaron Aguilera, formerly Jesus in WWE. Talk about your long ring names!
Team Defiance will be led by Dubai, known in WWE as Daivari and in TNA as Sheik Abdul Bashir.

Impact Wrestling did a 1.17. Could definitely be better.

Sean Waltman has a new video up; he discusses the origins of the Kliq's "Wolfpac(k)" hand signal among other things (including Owen Hart pranks). And now you know.

WWE has a poll up to determine the next Zack Ryder T-shirt. Ryder wants #2, and that's my vote as well.

WWE has new producing jobs up to be filled.

WWE has moved 12/18's TLC PPV from Philadelphia to Baltimore. Hopefully that does better for them.

That's all for Friday's news. More to come tomorrow. Thanks for reading!
