Questions on WWE sharing their video library, using the name Chyna, JR, and Michael Cole, Bret Hart working house shows, UFC announcer talks about his past chance with WWE, Tough Enough's Jeremiah talks, more on Hogan, DeMott autobiography out, Sean Waltman Q&A, Chyna update, Foley interview, and Dreamer finishing up with TNA, WWE and TNA employees at indy show, JR responds to Lesnar, WWE stock news, new Smackdown wrestler in movie, and the Smackdown rating

Today's news starts off with the questions submitted to PWInsider.com. Here's my take on them:
1. I think that it's extremely unlikely to ever happen, and with good reason. Why would they want to benefit their competition like that? WWE wants customers to go to THEM to see things like that, not the other guys. That footage could be used on other WWE DVDs and their on-demand content, WWE Network, etc., be it a look back at Nitro or the Intercontinental Championship or whatever else suits their fancy.

2. She actually legally changed her name to Chyna. The former Ultimate Warrior did this too: he's now legally "Warrior". WWE can't trademark someone's legal name, so she's free to use it in any of her endeavors. Part of me wonders why more people don't do that to keep their gimmick names when they leave the company, but the other part always says "because who really wants to go around with the name Bubba Ray Dudley or Jimmy Wang Yang 24/7"?

3. I've already mentioned this one, but since they added to their answer: I actually remember the "unauthorized broadcast booth" part. He had his own personal "JR" announce table in front of the other one. The Attitude Era was really out there sometimes.

After the break, I speculate on Michael Cole's future, and get into the rest of the day's news.

4. This is what happens when you assume things and don't wait for them to play out. It seems like that segment was the last one of the angle. One theory is that it wrapped things up for the fans who didn't catch the PPV and don't watch Raw. I don't know how many fans do that, but that sounds plausible given that they treat the two brands as pretty separate at times (look at the introductions they gave Del Rio on Raw the first times he appeared. It was like they assumed the Raw fans wouldn't have known him because he's on Smackdown).

Nothing to add to #5, so I'll move to the next story: Bret Hart will be working some WWE house shows in South Africa in July, presumably as guest host. Hopefully that tour does good business for them.

UFC announcer Mike Goldberg talked about his career, including the opportunity he had of signing with WWE (which is the only reason it's being posted here). I'm not familiar enough with his work to speculate on if he would have been/would be a good fit there. I'm glad he respects the company, though.

Jeremiah Riggs of Tough Enough fame talked about his experience on the show recently.

PWInsider.com spoke to a number of TNA employees, and the unanimous opinion is that Hogan wouldn't/didn't post the Facebook quote attributed to him over the weekend. I wish more people would have given him the benefit of the doubt and waited until some investigation was done.

Bill DeMott's autobiography has been released. There are a number of juicy tidbits on the official website. Looks like I'll have to add this one to the list, too.

Sean Waltman has a new Q&A up where he discusses Scott Hall's health among other interesting topics.

Chyna's adult movie has been officially released, so the chances of her returning to TNA in the future are nil. Don't expect WWE to hire her, either.

Mick Foley was involved in an interesting interview recently. He discussed the WWE Hall of Fame, chairshots to the head, saving money, and his charity endeavors.

Tommy Dreamer will be making his final appearances for TNA this week, as his contract will expire soon. They were unable to come to terms on a new one. He has been working as a producer (agent) recently in addition to his part in the feud between Bully Ray and AJ Styles. I guess it's best that they got something out of him on-screen while they still had him, seeing as how they presumably couldn't work out something for him to finish up at Slammiversary. Hopefully he's saved his money and doesn't have to work more independent dates than he wants to.

Juggalo Championship Wrestling will feature WWE employees Booker T. and Jerry "The King" Lawler, along with "Hacksaw" Jim Duggan and others in August. TNA's Mick Foley will also be appearing. All of them are able to take independent bookings as part of their deals with the companies.

Jim Ross commented on Brock Lesnar's WWE-related comments in "Death Clutch". I think a better solution than an off-season or mandatory time off would be something more flexible that works for each individual talent. In other words, if someone really needs time off, they can get it, but if they don't, they aren't forced to miss time somewhat needlessly. It'd be beneficial for some people to take time off in any case, but I think some solutions are far too broad and unwieldy. I'd like for people to get time off if they need it (as it would be beneficial for everyone involved), but some well-intentioned solutions aren't as good as they seem at first glance.

WWE's stock price closed at its lowest point of the year on 6/6. The overall stock market dipped during the day, which added to the decline started after WWE slashed its dividend in late-April. It's going to take time for business to rebound. Hopefully when Q2 earnings come in, people will start investing in them again.

Brodus Clay will be appearing in a movie co-financed by WWE and Pathe UK. He definitely has a unique look they can tap into. On a side note, I hope he's improving in the ring. If they're going to push him on TV, it'd be preferable if he could put on better matches.

Friday's Smackdown got a 1.79 rating. I suppose some of that could be attributed to there being some new people on the show that the audience hasn't warmed up to yet. Then again, there's some natural ebb and flow of ratings it seems.

That's all for Monday's news. There will be more tomorrow. Thanks for reading!
