Query on Hardys-TNA, Questions on comedy vignettes, WWE vs. TNA, title belts, the WWE style, Batista takes up for Finlay, Rock responds to Punk, Del Rio interview, ex-Creative member looks at Punk's promo, Lethal talks TNA release, controversial Orton interview, JR looks at Punk's promo, Australian ratings, Murdoch apparently not returning, a look at the set for All Wheels Wrestling, and Piper cancer-free

First up, someone asks the blog when the Hardys will be back in TNA. They're in "wait and see" mode as far as Jeff 's legal situation goes, so I'd be somewhat surprised if we see him before that's settled. As for Matt, I believe he' still suspended from the company, so it could be a few weeks or more until he returns. It's not a good time to be a Hardy fan right now.

As for Wednesday's PWInsider.com questions:
1. I don't see there being a big comeback in that kind of silliness in WWE or TNA. At least, I don't see many fans being crazy about that type of thing. I guess there's an audience for things like Obama's press conferences and Hornswoggle, but generally those segments aren't as prevalent as they were in the past, thank goodness. The whole point of wrestling is that people compete with each other. There are plenty of other places for that kind of segment on TV.

Nothing to add to #2. I had actually wondered that myself. As for 3? That's a big can of worms to open. I'd like to start by saying that there's really no objective way to say one company is better than the other. More successful? That can be measured. Better however is a matter of opinion. I generally prefer WWE to TNA, but the latter company has its moments.

4. I actually hadn't paid that much attention to that, but it's a good point. It certainly wouldn't hurt if they carried the titles more importantly.

After the break, I look at the differences in style between ROH and WWE, and cover all of the day's news.

5. As someone who grew up on the WWE style, my first time watching ROH was a bit of a shock. There are definitely major differences. WWE generally has some set patterns with parts of its matches. The heel beats down the babyface for a while, then the babyface makes a comeback. There are more "rest holds" where someone will "wear down an opponent" with something like a sleeper hold or chinlock. In tag matches, the heels beat down the babyface to set up a big "hot tag". ROH doesn't usually fall into anything like one of those patterns. They pull out more big, high impact moves and do them more frequently. Some find that more exciting and some find it overkill. To each his or her own.

Batista took to Twitter to address the release of Finlay from WWE. I don't know how long it's been since he was let go, but I think a suspension would have been more appropriate. I'm a big fan of Finlay's work both inside and outside the ring and think their dropping of him was a little much. At some point I believe they should bring him back to the promotion.

The Rock responded to C.M. Punk's promo from Raw. While that's almost certainly an exaggeration, I agree with the sentiment. I'm a fan of Punk's, but the much-promoted return of one of wrestling's all-time top draws after a number of years is a big enough deal to headline WrestleMania. How do you follow that?

Alberto Del Rio discussed his past, present, and future in wrestling with the Miami Herald.

A former member of WWE's Creative team took a look at Punk's promo from Raw. The pitch about Punk knocking out Big Show seems a bit much. I liked Punk when he first debuted, and he definitely had that "possible future star" feel about him, but he had only been on TV about 6 months at that point, and his toughest opponents until then were Kevin Thorn, Mike Knox, and Test. It's a noticeable leap from them to a 7' 500 lb. giant who'd held the ECW Title for a number of months at that point. He was in that match with RVD, Show, and Lashley, all of who were higher on the food chain (and more believable) than he was. I'm all for building new stars, but there's such a thing as too much, too soon.

Jay Lethal discussed his release from TNA, chalking it up to him not being on TV for 5 months. If they're using that as their basis for releases, they should look into cutting Robbie E, Cookie, Murphy, Rob Terry, and Okada/Okato. I'm sure some people are unaware that those people are still employed! Anytime I pitch something using some of those people on here, it's mainly because they're not being used. There's only so much room for players constantly on the bench. Lethal worked the All Wheels Wrestling pilot taping as "RPM".

Randy Orton gave a recent interview that should ruffle some feathers. Some of that's downright unprofessional. That should warrant a meeting with Vince McMahon and possibly a loss of the World Title at MITB. At the very least, they need to be more vigilant with his interviews from now on. The number of concussions is definitely something to keep an eye on.

JR looked at that little promo from Raw you might have heard a little bit about, as did ESPN's Gateland.com. To add to the 2nd link, it's also possible that he didn't mention TNA because he has no plans of possibly going there when his contract's up.

WWE Raw drew 25,000 viewers in Australia, the only wrestling/sports-entertainment show in the top 100.

Trevor Murdoch posted on Facebook that in addition to not having a solid grasp of English, he won't be coming back to WWE. It's hard to evaluate whether he'd be good in the company again. It's been a good while since I've seen him compete. I liked what I did see from him, though.

Here's a look at the setup for All Wheels Wrestling in the Impact Wrestling Zone. A six-sided ring? Ultimate X? Don West and Jeremy Borash on commentary? Are they sure this is funded by TNA!? Seriously, though, it will be interesting to see how well that gets over.

"Rowdy" Roddy Piper announced that he has beaten cancer again. Just when it thought it knew all the answers, he changed the questions. That's fantastic news.

That's all for Wednesday's news. This post was unfortunately delayed due to errors in the Blogger service. Hopefully tonight's post will be able to be posted a good deal earlier. Thanks for reading!
