Clay update, footage of Jericho's return, what happened after Raw, who won't be on Smackdown, Questions on Big Show vs. Shaq, Seth Rollins, wearing titles, and WWE dropping the ball, Jericho and Del Rio updates, Impact Wrestling rating, More on "Mr. Belding"- WWE, Elimination Chamber poster, Lesnar medically suspended, Smackdown rating, pre-Smackdown dark match, and WWE puts over their new live event set

Brodus Clay is once more being teased as appearing on the next episode of Raw. It's a crap shoot as to whether that will actually be the case.

Here's a somewhat shorter version of Chris Jericho's return to Raw. Well, it got people talking and I imagine that was their goal. The follow-up's going to be interesting.

After Raw ended, Kane came back up from under the ring and Cena attacked him. A street fight was then held between Memphis' Jerry Lawler and Michael Cole. Daniel Bryan made sure that Cole took his lumps. Very glad that this wasn't on TV. They had to improvise a bit because of the hole in the ring.

Vickie Guerrero won't be at this week's Smackdown taping, mentioning that she's training. Interesting. My guess is that means we're in for Vickie and Swagger vs. Zack Ryder and Eve or something along those lines. Well, it would make sense storyline-wise, and it means Ryder and Swagger get screen time and an angle, so I can't complain too much. Vickie's good at getting reactions from people, so maybe this will elevate all involved?

As for my take on PWInsider.com's questions:
1. For the spectacle and story of it, it will certainly be something different and fresh. I'd much rather see something like that than, say, Big Show destroying Brodus Clay. Show as "the very big wrestler who dominates all of his opponents because he's really big and strong" has gotten pretty stale for me.

2. They do, on a fairly frequent basis. There just haven't been quite as many lately. Maybe there isn't as much of a positive or negative buzz about the company. For example, Hulk Hogan and Eric Bischoff haven't been as big of a (visible, news-getting) part of the company lately. If something big happens there that people see positively or negatively, the TNA questions will likely pop back up.

After the break, I go into the rest of the day's questions and news. Next up, what chance does Seth Rollins have on the main WWE roster?

3. I haven't heard anything regarding his promo skills or lack thereof, but that will almost certainly factor in to how big of a chance WWE will give him. That being said, he sounds like he's got some chops from an in-ring perspective and that, combined with a look that stands out from the crowd, might be enough to warrant a spot on the roster. Not everyone gets pushed (and has to cut promos) right out of the gate.

4. I seem to remember JR having a similar concern. I don't even notice it anymore. It's much lower on my list of things to care about than whether the championships are treated as important things to win and lose, and if they elevate the people holding them. I honestly couldn't care much less if it's worn around the waist or over the shoulder.

5. I feel like I defend WWE a lot here, but I agree that they could have done a good deal better in a number of instances, and could still do better in a number of ways. Hindsight's 20/20 and all, and we don't know every reason for why they've done the things they've done, but business could definitely be better in a lot of cases. All that being said, really the only idea I can add to their list (which is pretty solid) would be if powerful people in the company stood up and said that things can and should be better. That sometimes "good" isn't good enough and they should strive for excellence. And so on. Dissent is frowned upon in Titan Towers, so it wouldn't be an easy task, but that could also work.

Chris Jericho is advertised as making "special appearances" at upcoming Raw house shows. That should be interesting. I imagine he'll do something similar to what he did on Raw, but he's not exactly predictable at times. Glad he's not just showing up for certain shows.

Update: He trained with Lance Storm to return to the ring. Storm reports that he doesn't have any ring rust, which is very good to hear!

Update: He continued his jovial, silent behavior after Raw. That was simultaneously the stupidest and smartest promo I've seen in a long time.

Meanwhile, Alberto Del Rio is being advertised as competing at the 1/14 Raw live event. That sounds a little early. I hope he's not risking serious injury by coming back to the ring that soon. Of course, line-ups subject to change and all that, but I'm pretty concerned at what's going on with this kind of thing lately (Orton and Henry also could be working at considerably less than 100%).

The most recent edition of Impact Wrestling did a 1.16. Not bad, really.

The Miami Herald talked to Dennis Haskins about his recent wrestling-related adventures and how he wants to be the GM of Raw. Maybe as a special appearance a la The Muppets or Hugh Jackman. The last thing WWE needs right now is something else to take away from the wrestlers doing wrestling-related things. Some of the guest appearances are fun, but I don't think they work as well for promoting the product as well as they should.

Here's the poster for February's Elimination Chamber PPV. Triple H is advertised for the event, though that information could be outdated. It should be noted that (spoilers) there are plans for him to face The Undertaker at WrestleMania, so an appearance there could build to that.

I don't picture this ending up wrestling related, but just in case: Brock Lesnar was medically suspended until 6/28 in Nevada due to his injuries from his UFC retirement bout.

Smackdown pulled in another 1.93 rating. With the advertised Falls Count Anywhere match, that's a little disappointing. Hopefully this week's edition (with two big title matches) will top 2.0.

Skip Sheffield beat Jimmy Uso ahead of Smackdown. It's possible that he did so under the "Ryback" name.

Finally, WWE put out a video talking about their new house show/live event set. Cool.

That's all for Tuesday's news. More to come tomorrow. Thanks for reading!
