Queries on Broskis of the Week and Little Jimmy, another live event for Ryback, more Horsemen HoF news, Questions on the ECW Arena, changing WWE, Smackdown's rating, Hogan's absence helping TNA, and Raw's competition, Orton return pushed back, Hardy talks drug past, Mr. and Mrs. HHH talk 2012 goals, new WWE Tag Team Champions crowned, Idol alum at WWE live event, and Angle claims WWE is interested in him returning

Two queries to start Sunday's news:
1. The Broski of the Week song on Ryder's YouTube show is called "Just Take Care (Spike Your Hair)". A link to the artists' Facebook page was in yesterday's news post.

2. Little Jimmy is a metaphor for the fans in the audience, although now it looks like it could also be R-Truth's imaginary friend. Or I guess it could be both, since he's "crazy". But originally it was used to represent the average young WWE fan.

"Ryback", formerly Skip Sheffield, once more worked a Raw live event with the same result as last time.

In other live event news, Aksana has been used as a special referee in a number of Divas matches on Smackdown shows lately. She's still training in FCW (and has been since before the start of NXT Season 3), so I imagine at some point she'll be allowed to wrestle on the main roster.

Ric Flair and Ole Anderson talked about the Four Horsemen going into the WWE Hall of Fame. It should be noted that TNA was done taping Impact Wrestling when Raw was airing, but it's still kind of funny that they were all watching the competitor's product. It could have just been for Ric, though.

After the break, I go into the rest of the day's news, beginning with a look at PWInsider.com's questions. First up, the most memorable thing from the ECW Arena.

1. Unfortunately (?) I wasn't around for the original ECW. One thing that really stands out, though, is the chair-throwing incident. CRAZY. Only in wrestling...

2. That sounds a little heavy. I agree with the NBC Universal part, though I think large amounts of shareholders bailing on the company for those reasons and/or people in the company getting fed up and walking out (or threatening to) would also have a noticeable effect on things. Business in general tanking, maybe due to a strong competitor, also stands a chance of shaking things up.

3. I'd think it would at least have some negative effect. If you don't "have" to catch or record it on Friday, you're less likely to tune in. I also think if it was on a better night, that could change.

4. I can certainly buy that theory! Some of the ideas he threw out in that pre-BFG interview (where he said Roode wasn't ready to be Champion) were a little head-scratching to say the least. I think the change in the Creative team would also have an effect as well as (maybe?) some stars being more willing to put over/work with the up-and-comers. I second the praise of Sting in his role.

5. "The ongoing talent transition" I think is the phrase I remember being thrown out about why business isn't as high as it used to be. Even though the Nexus angle did pretty good business with 8 WWE rookies, they look at it to some degree as a matter of not having some of the names they used to. There is something to that theory, but it's not the whole story. As far as other cable competition, I think History Channel has been taking a dent in their viewership as well.

Randy Orton is no longer being listed for this week's TV tapings, so the earliest he could return is 1/23. They at least hope he'll be back in the ring by the Royal Rumble.

Jeff Hardy talked about turning his life around after his battles with drugs. He's definitely a one-of-a-kind performer. I hope he really keeps his head on straight this time.

Update: He also met with some children at a library. Cool.

Triple H and Stephanie McMahon talked about their business plans for 2012. Hopefully they both grow the company and its performers.

Epico and Primo defeated Air Boom to become the new WWE Tag Team Champions at a house show in Oakland, CA. That's a bit surprising. I don't remember the last time a title changed hands in that way (that wasn't "undone" by way of rematch shortly thereafter). Stay tuned on this one. It is a good way to build interest for house shows in an "anything can happen" way.

Update: the new champions and Sofia Vergara Rosa commented on the title change. Good stuff.

"American Idol"'s James Durbin was in attendance at that same Raw live event. The Miz noted his presence and sang to boos. Clever.

Finally, Kurt Angle claims that WWE is interested in bringing him back in the fold. He's locked into TNA fairly long term I think, and at his age I don't see him working a full schedule in the company if he does come back. I would like to see one last run in the company, but I wouldn't put great odds on it.

That's all for Sunday's news. More to come tomorrow. Thanks for reading!
