Hogan on BBC, Roma talks HoF, Questions on Mongo, Hogan, WWE's focus on entertainment and females in the Hall, Dreamer and Ziggler talk Rumble, another Rock Raw, WWE scouting more FCW signings?, and Miz and Orton preview the Rumble

I have to give Hogan credit: he's at least good for getting a lot of press. Here he talks for five minutes with the BBC on London. I agree that some matches can be very overly choreographed and basically consist of going through a set formula with a set order and doing set moves and set times instead of getting a feel for the crowd and working off of that to tell the story. It's really dreadful at times to watch. Ditto for matches that basically descend into move exhibitions/spotfests.

Paul Roma talked about being left out of the WWE Hall of Fame's induction of the Four Horsemen among other things. Pic related.
I don't like them putting Carey in, but they wanted to pick one of the most iconic incarnations of the Horsemen, not every single member (it is the FOUR Horsemen after all). Since Ole wasn't going to happen, they went with the line-up they did. I do like the idea of voting for the Hall of Fame, but sadly a lot of it has to do with ratings, DVD sales and who's on good terms with the company.

After the break, I go into the rest of the day's news, starting with PWInsider.com's questions.

1. Really all I know about the Horsemen from that period is the jokes made at the expense of Roma and Mongo as members. Since I'm not too familiar with that time period, I'll pass on that one since I won't be able to give a qualified answer. Sorry.

2. Weren't the '80s/early '90s fun? I'm glad we didn't get Triple H vs. Michael Rapaport.

3's been asked twice recently, so I'll move on.

4. Truth be told, they've seen themselves that way since at least the '90s, so I don't see things changing too much any time soon. I'm fine with non-in-ring things on the show as long as they build up the characters involved and move stories forward (in other words, they aren't just killing time or goofy skits with not much purpose).

5. In addition to her (who should go in with Savage), Cyndi Lauper.

Tommy Dreamer talked about the Royal Rumble and his memories of it. Not a bad little read.

Dolph Ziggler also discussed the Rumble, promoting the event in-character. He's even electrifying in text form!

The Rock will be at the 2/27 Raw taping as well. That used to go without saying. He's a pretty busy guy, though, so I can't say I'm too surprised.

There's a lot of buzz in DGUSA that WWE is interested in a number of talents there. If WWE comes knocking, their head booker is willing to let performers jump ship (since it creates awareness for his promotion as a place to get noticed). If anyone else there is like Dean Ambrose, they could be looking in the right place. While it's great to add to the talent pool, there are a lot of performers not being used now and only so many spots. Something has got to give. Though maybe they're thinking of adding some more in-ring action shows for the WWE Network later in the year and want to stack up on talent to do that? Either way, there are a number of performers in FCW who are likely already prepared to be on the road for the company who aren't getting that opportunity and it's frustrating to see.

The Miz gave a great in-character interview ahead of the Royal Rumble. This man can talk.

Finally, Randy Orton talked after Smackdown. It'll be very interesting to see where they go with his porgram against Barrett from here on out.

That's it for Saturday's news. More news to come later in the day, including a preview of the Royal Rumble. Thanks for reading!
