At a recent TNA live event, Chase Owens defeated Jason Kincaid in what could be a tryout match for the promotion. Owens is a part of NWA Smoky Mountain, and wrestled as Kevin Bendl in a match against Ryback in May. Jason Kincaid has worked a variety of indies.
John Cena was legitimately injured at Raw. He underwent an MRI and is expected to continue working. Tough guy.
Advertised locally for TLC:
John Cena vs. Dolph Ziggler - TLC match.
Big Show vs. Sheamus - Chairs match.
C.M. Punk vs. Ryback - Tables match.
Everything else from yesterday is after the break!
C.M. Punk took shots at WWE for not promoting his outside appearances. You know they would have if it was Cena. I wish more performers had the guts that Punk has. When wrestlers want to do things outside of WWE (and possibly get press for WWE in the process), push usually comes to shove and they leave the company.
Raw drew 3.84 million viewers, down from last week. That's shocking given the hot angle to conclude Survivor Series.
For my take on yesterday's PWInsider.com questions:
1. It's possible, but there were media reports from outside WWE confirming that the heart attack was very real.
2. I guess he didn't trust Wikipedia?
3. I'd like to think WWE would give him another look when he comes back, given his ability to get over and generally being good in the ring. I don't think he'd fare quite as well in TNA since he wrestles in the WWE mold.
4. There's still time to "save" him. His current gimmick is over with the little Jimmys and they might not want to mess that up just yet. I can see a heel turn working down the line.
5. That's actually a good question. I suppose what they said makes sense.
More wrestling tomorrow!
