Dallas update, Punk honored, NXT star works live event, Lockdown breaks record, Roode updates, a look at WWE's Wellness Policy, more from Dixie, and Questions on hating TNA, Gut Check, WWE's booking of heels, a Ryder pipebomb, and booking Ziggler

Bo Dallas worked this weekend's live events, losing against Wade Barrett. I'd be interested to know what Management thinks of Dallas at this point.

C.M. Punk was honored by the New York Daily News for visiting the fan who was shot in the eye.

NXT's Bray Wyatt once more worked live events this weekend, defeating JTG. It'll be interesting to see what they do with him if/when he makes it to the main roster given that he usually works with a pack in NXT. Maybe Primo and Epico become the new Wyatt Family or something.

TNA Lockdown is said to legitimately be the most-attended show that the company has ever done in the US. Impressive!

Everything else from yesterday is after the break.

Bobby Roode has had some sort of issue with TNA Management. It's possible that his contract expired and/or there was an issue with his work visa (he's Canadian). He should be a key prospect for the company.  This is why he wasn't on the most recent Impact or at the PPV fanfest.

Update: Things were worked out. He's still with the company. Good to hear.

Here's an interesting look at WWE's Wellness Policy. They're clearly taking their performers' health seriously, as they should.

Here's more from Dixie Carter on TNA's business over the years. I'm glad to hear that things are looking up for them, because there were definitely times when their finances weren't in good shape.

For my take on yesterday's PWInsider.com questions:
1. There are definitely times when it feels like they don't like TNA, but lately the site has been more high on the product overall. I can see both sides to the "reporting straight vs. throwing in opinion" debate.

Nothing to add to 2, other than I'm a big fan of the Gut Check concept and think they've picked up some talented people through it.

3. WWE is very face-centric. They want the little Jimmys to be happy as often as possible and that means CENAWINSLOL in their mind. I definitely think that it would be a better service for the company to better utilize the heels as threats. I think a lot of what made The Dark Knight Rises so good was that Bane looked like a credible threat and actually had Batman vulnerable. He didn't need interference or anything. He just straight up handed Batman his ass and it was a big deal for Batman to get back to where he could beat him. If Bane got lucky in a fight an hour into the movie, then Batman beat him around the 90-minute mark, it wouldn't be nearly as impactful of a film and Bane would have looked less credible. Look how much money Dark Knight Rises took in, then look at WWE's buyrate numbers. WWE should pay attention to that. Of course, if it was WWE, Batman would say that Bane smelled bad and make fun of his costume.

4. That would be kind of cool. He's definitely got ammunition and I think he'd have some good support from his peers.

5. I think they were being facetious about them quitting if they were in the dark match, though Ziggler definitely deserves better than that. People are upset about Ziggler losing because he's one of the most talented, hard-working people in WWE. They're tired of Cena as a top guy beating everyone thrown at him. They want young, fresh talent who are hungry and Ziggler fits that bill. Getting a lot of camera time isn't the same as being booked well. It just means he's on TV (not looking like a credible threat). And losses definitely tarnish his mystique because he hasn't been built to the point where they don't matter (and he isn't presented as if they don't matter). Bryan basically got lucky that Henry got injured and the "yes!" thing got so over. WWE panicked and pushed him. If history holds true, they'll book Ziggler to get a lucky cash-in out of nowhere after having gotten his ass handed to him for months. Then they'll wonder why he doesn't look like a credible champion. Then he'll eventually lose the gold and go back to the same spot. The cycle continues and business will stay in the same place.

More wrestling tomorrow.
