Main Event Reax - 3/13/13, Smackdown dark match, TNA execs gone, Goldberg rumorkiller, Interviews with JB/Park/Tara/Daniels/Dinero/Ryder, Lethal seminar, Backlund at WWE HQ, and Questions on Punk vs. Taker, legends, Bearer, and epic matches

Main Event:
WWE continues the silliness with their faces. Again, what if Batman no-sold Bane or The Joker instead of getting serious about beating them? Swagger has put together some serious momentum, making people tap out. Del Rio should be taking him seriously. Not to mention Big Show.

A little surprised to see Big Show get the win. I do like that they continued Del Rio vs. Swagger, though.

Not a bad tag match, but I don't see either team gaining much traction any time soon. Everyone in the match is talented, but not enough to warrant a big push.

They're crazy for putting Henry vs. Ryback on Smackdown unless it leads to something bigger at Mania.

Barrett vs. Gabriel was pretty nice. They work together well. I think they could have a nice little feud if Gabriel was given the chance to grow as a performer. Gabriel's mic skills could be an issue, though.

I liked the post-match.
The dark match from Smackdown saw Ted DiBiase defeat NXT's Bray Wyatt (the former Husky Harris). Hopefully both young 3rd-generation stars have solid futures ahead of them. I tossed around the idea of a team between DiBiase and Bo Dallas based on their fathers' past alliance some time ago. Maybe the three of them together could be the Wyatt Family? Just throwing something out there.

TNA's Vice President of Public Relations has been released, shortly following the leaving of another member of the PR team. The company is still determining who will head up PR. It would be interesting to see what Hogan, Bischoff, or Jeremy Borash would do in the role.

Goldberg has shot down a Twitter rumor that he's signed a 4-year deal with WWE. I don't see that ever happening. He's 46 and hasn't wrestled semi-regularly in almost a decade. I'd be really surprised if they threw enough money at him to get something like that happening. Maybe a one-off appearance or something down the line, but a 4-year deal? Probably not.

Jeremy Borash and Joseph Park were interviewed. How did this guy get so many interviews!? Park was in character. Fun stuff.

Tara and Christopher Daniels talked about the Impact Wrestling tapings in Chicago.

Jay Lethal will be hosting a wrestling seminar in the UK in August.

Bob Backlund went to WWE HQ yesterday. I wonder if he made anyone name all of the U.S. Presidents.

Elijah Burke, a.k.a. The Pope D'Angelo Dinero talked about a number of WWE and TNA topics. Talented guy. I wish he would have been more successful.

Zack Ryder was interviewed by Muscle and Fitness. I think what made him so popular was that he was being himself. He wasn't scripted. He wasn't given catch-phrases by Management. He just went out there and goofed off with a camera.

For my take on yesterday's PWInsider.com questions:
1. I think there's about the same chance of Goldberg signing that 4-year WWE deal. But seriously, it's pretty much a foregone conclusion that Taker's going over clean.

2. If fans want to see legends do their signature spots, there are plenty of outlets to see their work from when they were in their prime (YouTube, old videos, etc.). It's not the same seeing some of these older guys try to live up to their past. Some guys still have it and I'm fine with seeing them in the ring here and there, but generally speaking I think the focus should be on the current guys. The legends are generally coming in for a one-shot. I don't think they should get the spotlight over the people who are going to be part of the live events, PPVs, etc. that the company is using to make a bigger share of their money.

3. That's like 50 questions! But yeah, pretty much what they said. Rocky did allow Punk to look good when they faced off, though, so he's not totally the "bad guy" here.

4. This is a tough one. Maybe they should let his family decide when he goes in. I'd totally like to see Taker and Kane put him in this year, but I can see the argument that they should wait.

5. Attention span is definitely part of it. There are definitely people who can (and sometimes do) compete in epic matches, but things are so much more rushed these days.

More wrestling coming up, namely what I would do for a WWE vs. TNA supercard!
