Punk meets shooting victim, Lawler update, Bischoff a good guy (?), Interviews with Hart/Jarrett/Ryder/Ziggler, Sammartino DVD, new WWE PPV, new perk for WWE house shows, Mysterio possibly injured, ex-Knockout to WWE?, Sid in hospital, Leavine update, Smackdown audience, and Questions on Ryder, Ziggler, ring announcers, TNA execs at Mania, and Mania in Canada

C.M. Punk met the man who had been shot when his store was robbed but was more upset with Punk losing to The Rock at the Royal Rumble. Really touching story. Punk's not really known as a nice guy, but things like this really make you think he's got a heart after all.

Jerry Lawler's personal doctor has given him the ok to return to the ring, but WWE has yet to give their blessing. It's really amazing that he's been so nonchalant about his heart attack since we nearly lost him! As for when he gets back in the ring, I can definitely see the demand for it since it would be a pretty good "feel good moment". I think it will happen at some point. I just pray that it goes well!

Eric Bischoff is willing to subject himself to 20-minute interviews with anyone who raises $25 or more to help a badly injured friend. More details here. Bischoff can be reached on Twitter @EBischoff. Say what you will about his business philosophies; that's really cool of him.

Bret Hart talked about Hogan and Bischoff in TNA. Unlike his Triple H comments, I can see some of his beef here. It's a little too negative to take as a serious critique, but he's on the right track with some of his remarks. I'd be very curious to see how Styles would do in WWE.

Update: Hogan took to Twitter to respond, basically calling Bret old and bitter. I personally find it kind of funny that these two are still trading jabs at their age.

Everything else from yesterday is after the break.
WWE is working on a (long-overdue) Bruno Sammartino DVD. This is still pretty surreal to me. Vince McMahon, Triple H, and Stephanie McMahon are on Twitter, Bruno Sammartino is on good terms with WWE, and Scott Hall and Jake "The Snake" Roberts are getting clean. My mind is BLOWN.

WWE's June PPV will be called WWE Payback. No word on what that entails.

Jeff Jarrett was interviewed. Interesting stuff.

Sky Sports received complaints about Wade Barrett's violent re-introduction vignettes (the bare-knuckle fighting). See page 23. They do make a point with a PG show featuring such brutality (though I support it).

Here's an excerpt from a Jake "The Snake" Roberts interview. Pretty powerful stuff.

Zack Ryder was interviewed. I'd be interested to see how he'd do as a more serious character, and he makes good points about WWE dropping the ball on himself and Ziggler.

WWE will be doing TNA-esque VIP promotions at live events.

Rey Mysterio met with Dr. James Andrews about a possible ACL tear. He just can't catch a break from his injuries...

Dolph Ziggler talked about a number of topics, including his losing streak and being paired with AJ and Big E. I'm not going to be a broken record here. Hard worker who's doing his damnedest to break out. Fans know he's got what it takes.

The former Rosita had a tryout match ahead of Raw. I'd be curious to see what she could do with some more experience under her belt. She showed potential in TNA.

Robbie E vs. Rob Terry (who is no longer "Robbie T") has been set for Lockdown. They're going to be breaking PPV records now. That's the hottest feud in wrestling.

Sid Vicious has been hospitalized twice in the past week. No further details are known at this time.

Tough Enough winner Andy Leavine will try to go back into football. I'm honestly kind of ticked here. Given the backing he got from the trainers, I expected so much more from him in the wrestling world.

Smackdown did 2.82 million viewers.

Dolph Ziggler and AJ read to kids. That would have been SO awesome in-character. I do think it's weird that WWE sends out heels to do charitable things.

For my take on yesterday's PWInsider.com questions:
1. Honestly he's probably hurting himself. WWE doesn't like being told that they're wrong. You'll like who they tell you to like, damnit!

2. There would be so much (justified) nerd rage if they jerked the curtain. Dolph's definitely earned a spot on the main card. If TNA was a viable option, I wouldn't blame him for jumping ship (not that he would).

3. She deserves to go in for sure. Along with Chimel.

4. That would really be interesting. There have only been a few TNA people who have been allowed at WWE events. Given that both have had a checkered past with Vince McMahon, it's really up in the air as to whether they'd be allowed in.

5. It's always possible in the future, but generally they're able to keep that info under wraps for a while.

More wrestling tomorrow, and a Blue Echo podcast coming up!
