Rock note, top guys getting time off, top TNA star hurt, possible reason why Bully apologized again, Interviews with Velvet/Kaitlyn/Kofi/Masters, Mysterio update, Mania price increase, Impact viewership, and Questions on awesome TV matches, Kaufman, missing matches, and Billy Kidman

Good news: The Rock was on the Tonight Show with Jay Leno. Bad news: there was absolutely zero indication that he's at WrestleMania, much less the reigning WWE Champion who's headlining the show. John Cena should jump all over that.

C.M. Punk is not advertised for either the Extreme Rules PPV or any live events in May. He's definitely earned a break, but WWE doesn't really have a lot of "over" talent to spare. There's also a weekend in May (24-26) where Cena and Orton are off. Again, they deserve time off but that really hurts WWE's drawing power. You think Rock, HHH, Lesnar, or Taker will fill in?

Everything else from yesterday is after the break.

Stop me if you've heard this one before: Kurt Angle has a bad injury, but he's working through it. Angle's worked over 1400 matches in his career, and they haven't been exactly easy on his body. Lesser men would have quit a long time ago.

It's being reported that a wrestling journalist has repeatedly contacted Viacom (Spike TV's parent company) to ask them if they tolerate the kind of language that Bully Ray used, prompting a second apology. I have a pretty good idea who that might be, but since the report didn't name who it was I won't speculate.

Velvet Sky talked ahead of some TNA live events.

Paul Bearer's family signed off on WWE using his death in an angle. I'm glad that they're good sports about it.

Rey Mysterio is undergoing physical therapy for his injured knee. He's another guy who might not have all that much left in the tank. It's not the age of a body; it's the mileage.

WrestleMania will cost $5 extra this year. I bet the illegal download sites love that news!

WWE Divas' Champion Kaitlyn was interviewed. Good read. I hope she's sticking around for a while.

Kofi Kingston was also interviewed. I guess WWE could do him vs. Cesaro at Mania, since both guys deserve a spot at Mania. Though Kofi vs. Genghis Khan would be good, too.

Impact did 1.39 million viewers. You see, brother, if Hulk Hogan was champion they'd be doing better.

Chris Masters' heroism was profiled by Yahoo, who is under the impression that Masters had a 10-year WWE career. Great journalism, guys. How hard would it be to look that up?

For my take on yesterday's PWInsider.com questions:
Nothing to add to 1.

2. If they give away a lot of big, long matches on TV, what the heck are they going to put on PPV? 30-40 minute matches? I'm a firm believer that the TV show should primarily be a "commercial"/set up for the PPVs where the big Cena vs. Punk type matches take place more often than not.

3. Kaufman absolutely belongs there, but I can see someone being all "Kids these days don't know who Andy Kaufman is! Put in Maria Menounous or Snooki." The Hall of Fame is as much about ratings as it is about who deserves to go in, sadly. Also, when The Rock goes in, does he go in as a wrestler AND a celebrity?

4. There's not enough time to show too many of those pesky "wrestling matches" when there's 20 Raw recaps to run. Sometimes WWE cuts things for time. It is curious that they haven't aired it. That would mean one fewer match to tape on a future taping. It wouldn't shock me if they forgot all about it given the relative unimportance of the Divas' Title chase.

5. Someone who wrestled in WWE getting a WWE action figure? You can't explain that. Yep, as a minimal amount of Googling would have told you, he was in WWE as a wrestler for 4 years.

More wrestling tomorrow. A Blue Echo podcast is coming up!
