Interview with Graham, Waltman hurt, big WWE charity, Lynn update, scrapped Divas match for Mania, likely HoF inductors, WWE doing well, Batista back with WWE (briefly), future NXT guests, another Lesnar PPV, Heyman update, Eve makes special appearance, WWE returning to Mexico, WWE injury updates, Flair pulled from Raw, Miz at KCA, Hardy engaged, Raw visitors, and Questions on Mania, Shelton Benjamin, WWE bashing itself, and Kofi

Billy Graham had a rather lengthy interview. He's never one to shy away on his opinions. I'm curious about the reality of the Sammartino story.

Sean Waltman tore some muscles in his rear end when doing a Bronco Buster at the Jerry Lynn retirement show.

That hurts just to think about.

WWE is working with a number of celebrities to raise money for Hurricane Sandy relief. Thumbs up for them doing so.

Everything else from yesterday is after the break.
As for post-retirement plans, Jerry Lynn has a full-time position that has nothing to do with wrestling but is still available as an agent or for seminars.

Axl Rotten has been cleared to return to the ring. What's with all the ECW names in the news lately?

WWE at one point planned a big 10-Diva tag team match, but negotiations fell through. Here are further details. I understand why WWE didn't want to give up the names they came up with. That's pretty standard with them. I don't see how Maryse couldn't continue to go by Maryse since it's her actual name. As for Maria, she did a YouShoot interview. I don't remember exactly what she said, but she was given ample time to air any grievances there.

Chyna recently talked to Vince McMahon, fueling speculation that she could be a part of a DX induction into the Hall of Fame in a future year. If they can work things out with Bruno, maybe it IS possible.

As for expected Hall of Fame inductors:
Lita for Trish Stratus (as I'd hoped)
Stevie Ray for Booker T (makes sense)
Maria Menounos for Bob Backlund (I can see some jimmies getting rustled here, but apparently they're good friends and it is cool to have a celebrity induct him)
Arnold Schwarzenegger for Bruno Sammartino (AWESOME. I would have loved for HHH to get the nod, but this is pretty cool in its own way)

WWE is really impressed with recent ticket sales. Last night's Raw sold out. Hopefully things continue when the part-timers aren't around.

Batista was backstage at a recent NXT event taping an interview for an upcoming Triple H DVD. Don't get your hoped up about him returning any time soon. I know a lot of people would like to see it, but I don't know if it's even feasible for him in the near future. Last I heard, he didn't like the PG direction of the product.

Brodus Clay, Naomi, and the Prime Time Players will be a part of the 3/30 NXT live event. I'm hoping they get something between Clay and Leo Kruger. I guess PTP could face Neville and Grey (or Neville and Dallas)?

Brock Lesnar is on the poster for July's WWE PPV, Payback. It will be interesting to see what he does then. I'd like to see Lesnar go for either major championship (if not both at different times). I can see both sides to the "having a part-time Champion" argument and having him beat a Cena or Del Rio.

WWE does not plan on splitting off Heyman from Punk. I'd love to hear Heyman cut a promo on Taker. They have some history.

WWE used Eve to meet some new potential Divas and explain what life is like on the road. Smart move. I'd hate for them to hire someone only for that person to leave shortly thereafter because they couldn't take it.

WWE is headed back to Mexico this September, which is a bit surprising since their last run there didn't do so well. Some backstage employees had been let go after the poor performance. I hope this time goes better for them. It would be nice to have Del Rio, Sin Cara, Rey, and El Local all ready to go by then.

Mark Henry is not expected to miss any ring time, which I'm sure is welcome news to WWE. I hope he's still got a good amount of gas left in his tank.

Evan Bourne could be back in the ring by May, but there's no guarantee. He's going to need to really impress when he comes back. Being gone for over a year with an injury is a big setback. Even if he's as good as he was before he got hurt (or better), he's still got two Wellness strikes against him and that's really going to hamper his success I think. It's possible that he really turns things around, but the deck is stacked against him.

Ric Flair was pulled from last night's Raw due to a blood clot in his leg. He was examined, then sent home for further medical treatment. I'm sure he would have loved to have been a part of the show, but they can't take chances like that. There were plans to use him last week as well, but obviously that didn't happen. I'd love to see Lesnar attack him to add heat to the feud with HHH.

The Miz was also at the Nickelodeon Kids' Choice Awards.

Matt Hardy and Reby Sky are engaged. Awwwwwww. I wish them the best.

Former MLB star John Kruk and the band Bad Religion visited backstage at Raw. Cool.

For my take on yesterday's PWInsider.com questions:
1. This was answered before Raw went on the air. I think last night's show did a pretty good job of setting things up for Mania, with some solid promos by some of the people in the top matches, but they've still got some work cut out for them.

2. Benjamin always struck me as really talented but definitely not someone who was strong on the mic. Instead of helping him by giving him a good talking manager, they gave him a "Mama". I have no clue why they thought that was a good idea. It could very well have been some kind of rib or punishment or something. It was certainly one for viewers.

3. My theory: Vince is "always right". If a segment doesn't work, him burying it is him saying that he knows that it's not working. Basically this:

4. I think that was just to show how "good" Cena is by having him beat a midcarder. PTP's act is pretty silly at times and that was par for the course. Vince probably gets a good chuckle out of them. Need a remind anyone of this?

5. Ever since the "stupid" incident with Orton, they've been hesitant to push him. I agree that he's talented. They could be waiting for him to take the bull by the horns like Punk and Ryder did. But yeah, it's the standard answer of Vince having other toys he'd rather play with. It's no secret that a lot of online fans and critics are ready for HHH to take over.

More wrestling tomorrow, and a Blue Echo podcast coming up!
