Impact Wrestling Reax - 2/2/16

Read on for my thoughts on last night's Impact Wrestling.
They've got a big opportunity to "make" EC3 even further depending on what he does after losing to Matt. This needs to be treated as a really big deal and a humbling moment.

I'm loving heel Matt. They've set him and his crew up as a faction you don't want to mess with.

I kind of assumed EY and Bram were on Matt's payroll.

They went right into Matt vs. Angle, eh? I'm sure it will be amazing. It just seems like Kurt more or less walked into it.

Man, they're setting up a big brawl with a lot of people on the roster. TNA has been fun when they do that kind of thing.

I love Matt and Tyrus staying out of this, letting everyone else slug it out.

Sometimes TNA does seem to be lacking something with no authority figure, but they make the most it.

Tyrus vs. Drew could be pretty fun as a feud. I like how important the World Title is.

Lashley vs. O'Shea:
I like Aiden. He's more of a flat-out brawler.

I'm not sure why Raquel cares about any of this.

That was really good for what it needed to be. Lashley's one of TNA's best assets.

I don't dislike the idea of Lashley having a valet. He can be the silent dominator.

The Knockouts division could definitely use some fresh faces. Hopefully Maria's good enough in the ring to contribute.

OOHHHH Maria isn't necessarily here to wrestle. Got you.

Hmmm... we'll see what the future holds for Maria, especially with Kong on the bench. This show was taped before the Kong-Reby incident, but it sets things up nicely for Maria to come in and potentially take Kong's place as an important heel. Presumably Reby can get in the ring in the future, too.

Wolves vs. Beer Money at Lockdown would be really big. I'm glad EY/Bram and The Decay are teams, too, though. TNA needs a solid division.

- Wolves/Beer Money vs. Decay/EY/Bram:
This match is pretty crazy, rules-wise. Fun, though.

Storm with a keg is hilarious.

Storm is right at home here in TNA.

Roode with a hockey stick is pretty funny, too.

This is just a crazy brawl. I like it, though.

Really fun match. Good to set up the Decay as challengers for the gold.

Kurt touring the UK as World Champion and retiring with the title is a touching thought, but they should keep it on Matt.

- Tyrus vs. Galloway:
Tyrus isn't a great wrestler in the sense of a Kurt Angle or Seth Rollins, but he makes the most of what he's got.

Drew's incredibly valuable for TNA. A great wrestler with a lot of passion.

Drew vs. Bennett for the briefcase is a good feud of young talent. These two should both have important futures.

Lashley teaming with Raquel and turning heel in Angle's last match could be really big.

I was really hoping for Helms vs. Uno, but MAYBE this guy's good. They definitely need some new, talented faces in the X-Division. A great veteran name would have been really helpful, too, but maybe Helms isn't up for taking bumps for TNA.

- Uno vs. Trevor:
Oh, I like Lee already.

Lee brings a different style to the flippy division. He's a rough brawling technician. What's not to like?

Tigre put up a good showing, but Trevor Lee was really impressive here.

Really good promo from EC3. Some real emotional depth, and the El Chapo reference was funny.

EC3 vs. Matt at Lockdown (presumably) could really be amazing. I can't wait.

- M. Hardy vs. Angle:
Oh, man. These two are really impressive here.

I really hope we get Tyrus vs. Pope in the UK after that.

This is a real clinic. Angle's an all-time great, and he'll really be missed.

SUPLEX CITY in TNA!!

Good match. Really good match. TNA's been quite great lately.

More wrestling coming up.
