Sunny hospitalized, assorted WWE press, Interviews with Austin/Backlund, Breeze True Long Island Story, more on Bryan retiring, MSG looks at WM1, important commentator passes, HoFer to get DVD, new ROH PPV matches, NJPW notes, Bret Hart update, and Questions on one last Bryan match, Callihan/Hero in NXT, Tod Gordon, Cody Rhodes' split personality, debuting Balor at WM32, and Brock beating Taker

Sunny was recently hospitalized due to pancreatitis, and has undergone an endoscopy. She previously had a bout with the disease as a result of alcohol abuse. That's very unfortunate. I really hope she gets her life back together after a string of arrests in the past few years.

GMA covered Daniel Bryan retiring, while New York's Fox affiliate covered Titus O'Neil being suspended.

Stone Cold talked about Bryan's retirement, WM32, and more. I hope we at least see a stunner in Dallas. Miz is my pick to take it.

Bob Backlund talked about working with Vince, Sr. and more. Backlund's always wide open.

Everything else from yesterday is after the break.

Tyler Breeze has launched a YouTube series. As much as I enjoy him, I don't know if this is going to help him much.

ROH put up an excerpt of the upcoming Nigel McGuinness autobiography, focusing on Daniel Bryan. They had a lot in common, including unfortunate retirements.

MSG Network aired a special about Wrestlemania I as part of the Defining Moments series. I'd say that was pretty defining for them.

- Here's a press release promoting the show. It was filmed some time ago considering they have quotes from Piper.

Commentator Mark Nulty passed away after a battle with cancer. Condolences are due to his friends, family, and fans.

WWE is going to release a Scott Hall documentary DVD in July. I know people want to see him get a backstage job in WWE. We'll see if that ends up happening.

Added to ROH's 14th anniversary PPV:
- No DQ match for the ROH Tag Team Championships: War Machine vs. ANX
- Alex Shelley vs. Christopher Daniels
- Tomohiro Ishii vs. Hirooki Goto (We NJPW now)

I expect Bobby Fish vs. Roderick Strong to be added, too.

Some U.S.-related NJPW notes from their most recent event:
-  ROH's Michael Elgin teamed with Juice Robinson and KUSHIDA in a loss to Tetsuya Naito/BUSHI. WWE should sign Elgin to appeal to the Japanese marker (and because he's a good power guy).
- The Briscoes lost their titles with Toru Yano in a match against Tama Tonga, Tujiro Takahashi, and Bad Luck Fale.
- Matt Sydal won the IWGP Jr. Tag Team Championship in a match with the Young Bucks and reDRagon.
- Kenny Omega, Karl Anderson, and Doc Gallows won their match. I'm assuming they'll have Anderson and Gallows kicked out of Bullet Club before they head to WWE. They've still got a few shows left in Japan.

Bret Hart's surgery was a success. I hope he gets good health news going forward.

For my take on yesterday's PWInsider.com questions:
1. I wish Dave went hard like this on some of the ridiculous "burial" conspiracies. I can't really add much to this burial, but no, Daniel Bryan doesn't "owe" wrestling fans anything additional considering the serious health problems he's battling. He owes himself, his wife, and his future children a healthy human being. He isn't retired because of a sprained ankle or anything else minor, nor because WWE didn't want him overshadowing Reigns or whatever other dumb theory is out there. I think a lot of people love him as a wrestler, and he made a good deal of money because of that, but there comes a time when wrestling any more puts him in serious danger. It's time for him to find a new career.

2. The product of Solomon Crowe just never gelled at the level of the other names mentioned. They couldn't figure out what to do with him, as a character or a performer. He was being used to put others over, and that was about it. As for Ohno, I'm honestly not sure. There's definitely talk it was because of his weight/conditioning, but there's also the theory he didn't stand out from the pack as a performer in a significant way. I'd certainly like to see the two of them back down the line if they can become what WWE wants from them.

3. I don't see him getting back into wrestling at a big level, if that's what people hope.

4. As was said, unless there's a storyline reason to do it, I don't see why they should.

5. I definitely wouldn't debut him at WM32, given how much else will be going down that day. When they do debut him, he should have the spotlight on himself instead of sharing it with other new debuting stars. If they bring up Zayn and/or Joe the night after Mania, they should wait a few months before bringing up Balor. I like the idea of a Balor Club coming up this summer. They could have Anderson, Gallows, and Styles make a statement on the roster and tease the debut of their leader (like when the Outsiders teased their third member).

6. I think Taker really respects Brock, so I don't think he had a problem with it. It's clear it really elevated Brock as the Final Boss of WWE.

More wrestling tomorrow.
