GFW name on CBS, GFW and WWE press, new Hidden Gems, Cena's post-Summerslam plans, more Fashion Peaks coverage, Ellsworth freed, WWE name officially leaves, Alberto-GFW update, WWE turns down Rey return, Impact audience, WWE updates Bayley's status, Network promoting DX, why HoHo is gone, Raw and GFW names miss live events, Hardy trademark updates, and Questions on commercial breaks, Stone Cold returning, Heels' selective memories, what happens after an intense match, and Stephanie's memoir

Jessie Godderz was on an episode of "Young and the Restless" this week. He hasn't worked for GFW since January, and it doesn't look they're going to use him going forward.

A GFW live event got press. I'm glad they finally got something going on that end.

WWE has announced a new edition of Hidden Gems, featuring C.M. Punk's first WWF match.

- WWE Network has added a Hidden Gems section, so it looks like this is going to be a regular thing. That's cool.

John Cena will be working Raw following Summerslam, leading to being part of No Mercy on September 24. The only TV show he'll miss will be on September 18, as he'll be part of Smackdown's tour of China the night before.

TV Guide had press for Breezango's Twin Peaks parody. Wow. This is getting WWE more of a push than Nakamura beating Cena. That's something to note.

AJ Styles, Charlotte Flair, and Tye Dillinger did signings Friday.

James Ellsworth is free from his suspension. Hallelujah! This injustice is finally over!

Eva Marie has officially left WWE. She was paid to not wrestle for more than a full year.

- WWE officially stated it was a mutual decision, which seems to indicate she had time left on her contract. There had to have been a point before now they could have worked something out to release her, as they clearly weren't going to use her anymore. I assume they only kept her around to get publicity from her appearing in other projects. I don't know if that was worth however much they were paying her, though.

GFW has confirmed Alberto El Patron remains suspended as they continue their investigation of their champion. Alberto recently indicated everything was clear for him to return, so there's something of a disconnect there.

Fans made a Royal Rumble in a New York subway train. That was AMAZING. Wrestling needs more fun stuff like this. I'd rather watch some goofs do something entertaining than more trained wrestlers do a bunch of random flips and dives.

Rey Mysterio won't be returning to WWE due to reported conflicts between management and Rey's representation. Rey's 42 and has a history of injuries and suspensions in WWE. I think they'd do better at developing future stars, as legendary as Rey is. I would think this increases his chances of going to GFW in 2018, given his alignment with Konnan. I'm sure they can use him well as a featured attraction.

Impact Wrestling drew 276,000 viewers Thursday, slightly down from the previous week. Destination X will be a big night for them with the Alberto situation and all.

WWE is officially saying Bayley's Summerslam match is in jeopardy. That's a real shame. I hope she recovers soon and we still get a great women's match from the Raw side. I'd like to see Mickie James get the nod so they can save Sasha and Nia for later.

Titus O'Neil was a guest coach at Temple University recently. The Titus Brand is in full effect!

WWE Network will have DX content on Friday to celebrate the group's 20-year anniversary. It's just a matter of time before they're inducted into the HoF as a group. I'm curious if Chyna will be acknowledged as part of their history then.

The Hardys, Seth Rollins, and The Miz were advertised for Raw's live event this weekend, but weren't part of the show. No word on why that was. Obviously a lot of people want to see them!

HoHo Lun decided to leave WWE in order to care for his mother back in Hong Kong. He will remain an ambassador to WWE on an unofficial basis. I wish his family the best, and hope good things are coming for him professionally.

Braxton Sutter and Allie missed GFW's August 4 show due to flight issues. They're expected to still make the August 5 show.

- GFW changed the lineup to have Pat Buck beat KM and the Create-A-Pro talents worked a triple threat.

WWE was unable to trademark Matt Hardy's name due to potential confusion with Matt's own potential "Broken Matt Hardy" trademark. WWE won't be able to trademark the name until the Broken trademark is resolved one way or another. WWE also did not have consent from Matt or Jeff to trademark their names, which has now been remedied.

For my take on yesterday's PWInsider.com questions:
1. WWE could do more backstage segments promoting products and that kind of thing, but I don't see much else changing. If people watch those commercial breaks during matches, NBCU's going to keep putting them during matches! They want as many eyeballs on them as possible.

2. Stone Cold was in the area, so people speculated he'd be on the show. There were no firm plans to have him appear.

3. Heels are often hypocritical, which makes them all the more despicable.

4. They pretty much catch their breath, hit the showers, and head to the next town. Not much time to do much else!

5. It was more or less indefinitely postponed. That's a little surprising, as it could have been a big PR story to feature a female executive so prominently.

More wrestling tomorrow.
