Main Event Reax - 8/12/17, more DX memories, Interviews with Asuka/Eva Marie, Dunne hurt, new WWE merch crossover, Big E profiled, Summerslam hype, Knockout done with GFW, NXT name on Smackdown live events, and Questions on Smackdown pushes, Roman's path to Summerslam, WWE giving out replica titles, MITB 2011, and Matt-Edge-Lita

-- Main Event:
- Crews vs. Hawkins:
Crews' power advantage on full display early.

Ha. Curt not wanting to play Apollo's strength game.

Hey, Crews isn't just a power guy. He can beat you with speed, too!

Hawkins is at a distinct disadvantage here.

Curt finally getting some offense going!

Apollo is REALLY good and smooth. He's being wasted on Raw.

Nice counter to the toss powerbomb.

I would have been OK with Curt stealing the win to set up a rematch.

Good ending!

- Elias promo:
I'm glad we aren't getting a 205 Live match this week. That gets old with such a small roster!

- Elias vs. Kalisto:
I like Elias using his power and size advantage to take control.

Kalisto has some incredible athleticism.

Elias' offense is straightforward, but effective.

Nice wrist lock spot.

I like how these two are playing off each other.

Fine basic work going on here.

Poor Kalisto just can't put him away.

Fine enough match.

WWE Network will showcase more DX footage this week to continue celebrating the group's 20th anniversary.

Asuka talked to Newsweek about her historic reign as NXT Women's Champion and more:
- I hope she can be a success on Raw or Smackdown as well when the time comes. Those shows are different beasts.

- Asuka has already made a big mark in WWE; hopefully she'll continue to do so in the years to come.

- Asuka not speaking English fluently is going to hinder her to a degree. It's not easy to pick up a language in your 30s.

- The makings of the "revolution" were in place some years before. It didn't pop up out of nowhere in 2015; it was the product of years of changing the kind of women signed to WWE contracts.

- I wonder if the results of the rougher Japanese style kept WWE from signing Io Shirai. Her history of concussions and neck issues had to have played a factor.

- Asuka has a unique personality with her signature looks. That helped WWE decide to use her.

- I wish Dana and Emma were used more. They're awesome.

- Hahahaha I love her wanting to hold two brands' titles at once.

- I still want to see the MYC winner face Asuka, and maybe start their own undefeated streak at her expense.

Eva Marie talked to Rolling Stone:
- Eva Marie was at Rosa Mendes levels of being paid to do nothing for years, although of course Rosa had a kid along the way.

- Eva Marie making a surprise appearance would get SO much heat. I'd be down.

- I'll believe her being at Rock levels when I see it.

- I'd like to see someone hit a Trish Stratus level of overness and be able to cross over.

- I kind of see the Lana/Tamina resemblance to Eva/Nia, but I think Alexa/Nia is better than both pairs.

- I think WWE specifically cast Eva to be the inexperienced one getting too much of a push in order to get attention for "Total Divas." Pretty clever of them!

Pete Dunne was cut open above the left eyebrow during a match Friday night, which caused the match to be shortened.

- Dunne was pulled from PROGRESS events for the rest of the weekend, where he was set to defend the WWE UK Championship. We'll see if he's able to work any NXT events around the time of Summerslam; I'm sure they'd love to use him along with other members of the UK brand.

- Jack Gallagher challenged Dunne to a future UK title match at the show. Dunne slapped away his hand on a handshake attempt and left the ring.

WWE announced some further Puma/Foot Locker crossover. Those are pretty cool.

Big E was profiled in Florida. I hope he's able to be a success on his own someday.

WWE names will be signing autographs at "Summerslam night" for a Brooklyn minor league baseball game on Thursday. WWE gets some great publicity in that market.

Angelina Love has left GFW, following in the footsteps of her husband Davey Richards. That's not a big surprise; she likely just came in for that last angle and didn't have any plans beyond working with her husband.

Liv Morgan worked a Smackdown live event, teaming with Naomi & Becky Lynch to defeat Tamina, Lana, Carmella, & Natalya. I assume she was replacing Charlotte with Charlotte being in China. NXT had their own tour going on, so they didn't have a lot of people available to use.

For my take on yesterday's PWInsider.com questions:
1. It's not like Mike Kanellis is a great talent worth pushing. I think it's fine to just have him "in the mix" instead of getting a push ahead of other workers. Dillinger's a "good hand" but not really someone I see as being in a title picture. WWE only has so many "spots" on TV. Not everyone's going to get one.

2. Roman retired Undertaker and sent off Braun Strowman, and other wrestlers challenged his claim for a title match. I have no complaints at all. It's not like Curt Hawkins getting a title match just by asking for it; Roman has the resume to be able to be in the mix.

3. Also, WWE sells replica titles. It's publicity for those, too. I'm mostly OK with it as long as they're given to people who've accomplished something big.

4. If MITB was Punk's last night, they wanted to make the most of it by having him wrestle for the WWE Title in his hometown.

5. It was real. Matt worked some shows outside of WWE that summer, including ROH. Jeff Jarrett even teased him coming to GFW on an episode of Impact. It was one of the most surreal things ever.

More wrestling tomorrow.
