Summerslam preview

Read on for my ideas for tonight's Raw and Smackdown WWE Network special event.

-- Kickoff:
- Tozawa vs. Neville:
Tozawa to give us something new on 205 Live. The show could use a reboot of some kind and Tozawa as champion is a start. It's really spinning its tires.

- New Day vs. Usos:
New Day because they just won the titles last month. Unless the Hype Bros are turning heel, New Day's really lacking in opponents. I like the idea of the Singhs going after the titles, but I don't think it's quite time. Might as well have The Ascension go for the titles while setting up a new heel pair on the show. Ziggler and Kanellis is a possibility, since Dolph and Maria had an on-screen relationship way back when. Make your own joke about WWE keeping continuity, but the only other options for new teams involve English and Rowan.

- Hardys/Jordan vs. Miz/Dallas/Axel:
Hardys and Jordan because this is Kickoff and there's not much reason to do anything else. The build for a Jordan/Miz title match continues.

-- Summerslam:
- Cesaro/Sheamus vs. Ambrose/Rollins:
Seth and Dean are in a holding pattern as singles stars. Might as well have them take the titles so they have something to do. Eventual opponents include The Club, the Hardys (face vs. face), and Revival. I have really enjoyed the Europeans as champions, though. Maybe they retain here by DQ and light a fire for a street fight rematch next month?

- Naomi vs. Natalya:
Honestly, Natalya's earned it. If she doesn't win here, it will be incredibly difficult to build her up for another shot. This might be her last chance to avoid being Zigglered. No Carmella cash-in yet. They should build her up for it more.

- Orton vs. Rusev:
Rusev's another name they have to be careful not to sabotage with too many important losses. I'm going with Rusev KO'ing Randy with his Bulgarian star medal (or something else unique to Rusev) so he's passed out for the Accolade and Rusev gets the dirty win.

- Show vs. Cass:
Cass takes advantage of Show's hand situation to win. Enzo has to watch as Cass puts a beatdown on his new friend after the match, as The Club won't let the refs free him from the cage. I definitely don't want Show getting the win, even with Enzo's help. Cass needs the momentum.

- Alexa vs. Sasha:
With Bayley out, Alexa doesn't have much left to work with if she beats Sasha. This one goes to The Boss. Maybe Snoop can help her win to give Alexa something to throw a tantrum about?

- AJ vs. Owens:
AJ wins. Owens is understandably upset. Owens vs. Shane inside HIAC in October would be a blast, so let's build to that.

- Balor vs. Wyatt:
Demon Balor gets the win. Bray's content that he brought that side out if Finn, even in a loss. I don't dislike the idea of Bray trying to use his powers to take control of that part of Finn's personality in the future.

- Cena vs. Corbin:
Cena does his best to bring Corbin to a new level in this one. After wasting MITB, he's vulnerable. Baron puts up a fight in a loss - there's no way anyone would buy him winning clean and there've been enough dirty finishes at this point.

- Jinder vs. Nakamura:
Talk about being between a rock and a hard place! I wish they would have used Shinsuke as a U.S. level guy first, because it's pretty much only downhill from being in this spot. Jinder counters Kinshasa with a low blow to save the title. He needs this more than Shinsuke does. This is why you avoid booking this kind of scenario in the first place.

- Brock vs. Joe vs. Braun vs. Roman:
Braun wins. Kurt Angle threatens to sue Brock and Heyman for millions of dollars if they don't finish out their contract through WM34. The duo decide they're going to make Kurt regret that decision. This is the perfect time to get the title off Brock. WWE shouldn't sabotage anyone's momentum for a guy who's a main event talent without the title. If they want to redo WM31's advertised main event at WM34, they can at least have Braun be champion going into Royal Rumble.
