Smackdown match announced, Cena show update, Interview with Mustafa, Smackdown cameos on Bucks show, GFW makes decision on future tapings, Cena on Today, HoFer at WWE live event, another way to watch GFW, GFW name opening school, Memphis TV show in the works, two Raw injuries, more Enzo heat, what happened after Raw, and Questions on reporters getting "worked," protecting Aleister, why WWE doesn't book like NJPW, and Taker's HoF speech

Jinder Mahal vs. Randy Orton in a non-title match is set for Smackdown. I assume Rusev will be keeping a close eye on that.

American Grit season two has wrapped up. I'm sure Cena will be busy even if that doesn't get a third season.

Mustafa Ali talked in Chicago. I'm glad he and other talented cruiserweights are getting a bigger spotlight by nature of working WWE. I know it's not the spotlight or style some fans want, but they're working in front of larger audiences and have regular contracts.

Kevin Owens, Sami Zayn, and AJ Styles made cameo appearances on The Elite's YouTube show. The Elite really put in a lot of work to get themselves over, and I commend them for that. Clever way to integrate their friends from Smackdown.

GFW has dropped plans to do tapings in September, instead filming all material up to early November at their tapings later this month. Universal Studios could very well need the "Impact Zone" space to do something for Halloween attractions, which they prepare for in September.

The next GFW tapings will follow Bound For Glory on November 5 from Orlando. I see why they didn't want to do the show on the road; it's easier to line up a batch of tapings in one location.

GFW has plans for a Lockdown PPV in 2017. That's a logical event to put on PPV.

John Cena guest hosted The Today Show Monday morning. He's such a free agent, he can even appear on other NBCU shows!!

Pat Patterson was part of Smackdown's live event in Montreal. That's always cool.

DirecTV Now has added Pop TV to its streaming channels, so fans can watch GFW that way. I like the a la carte approach for people who don't want to pay for SO MANY CHANNELS THEY DON'T WATCH.

Matt Sydal is opening a training school in Florida. Man, who DOESN'T have a wrestling school in 2017?? If he's around in GFW long term, maybe that school can be a place for people that company has an eye on to get some work. Currently they use Scott D'Amore's promotion in Canada for that to a degree.

Jerry Lawler has filmed a pilot for a series showcasing classic Memphis material from Lawler's library. Lawler is shopping the show around locally in Memphis, and it could end up licensed for the WWE Network as well. That's considered some of the best content of its era. Lawler did an interview discussing the pilot and more.

Bayley has been diagnosed with a separated shoulder. She will miss Summerslam, but a more specific timetable for her returning hasn't been announced at this time. I hope things start going her way she she returns.

Scott Dawson will also be missing Summerslam due to a ruptured biceps. That's unfortunate. The Revival haven't really had a chance to get much momentum going after a stellar run in NXT.

- Dash Wilder and Matt Hardy commented on the injury. WWE might as well let the Hardys do the "woken" thing. Leave GFW alone and do a new take on the material.

Enzo Amore has gotten additional heat after bringing guests into the locker room and letting them take pictures of talent. He's also branching out into music, which WWE doesn't usually allow a talent to do independently of them. I think Enzo's a really great talent, but he seems to be "living the gimmick" a little too heavy for the current WWE environment. The fact talents are going to the press to vent frustrations with him is definitely concerning. Hopefully it will be a wake-up call for him.

Samoa Joe and Braun Strowman had a staredown after Raw to conclude the taping.

For my take on yesterday's PWInsider.com questions:
1. I'm sure every reporter gets people who are just trying to present their side of things, make mountains out of molehills, etc. Good journalists take one-sided stories with a grain of salt and reach out to other people involved to get a more complete take of things. I would even go as far to say they shouldn't run a story that just has one source attached given the human nature to paint things one way, ESPECIALLY in a business built around "working" people. I'm wary of trusting shoot interviews for the same reason. A lot of times they're a "work" in the sense of being spin or an exaggeration of things made to make one side look better. So, while Prichard might have been overly broad if he was dismissing all reporters' work as junk, he's right that some are just mouthpieces for talent with an agenda because the reporters only run one side of the story. A lot of that is why wrestling journalists aren't taken very seriously.

2. I miss the days when everyone didn't know everything before it aired.

3. I'm sure Konnor and Viktor would love to have a tag team partner! I have been absolutely blown away by Aleister in NXT, but there's only so much they can do for him when he's being booked by people who don't necessarily "get" his appeal.

4. Basically, WWE is a TV show featuring wrestling, whereas NJPW is a wrestling show on TV. WWE probably doesn't have the patience for that kind of booking anyway. Two weeks in, Vince would be ready for something new.

5. He definitely has the right to do whatever he wants. I can see him coming out as Undertaker and giving the speech "as Mark." Although, with the way WM33 ended with him leaving his gear in the ring, he might have already finished as that character.

More wrestling tomorrow.
