Hogan return fallout, Vince misses ER, further ER notes, Japanese legend passes, SDL not airing live on January 1, Raw and SDL back-to-back in September, Sinclair-Tribune merger put on hold, WarGames II official, Brock set for another show, WWE shirt pulled, assorted WWE press, Charlotte update, no Raw dark match, and Questions on best moments covering wrestling, 205 Live at Takeover, predicting audience reactions, and Vince not leading FOX negotations

Eric Bischoff spoke to Sports Illustrated about Hulk Hogan returning to WWE. Seriously, Eric? People not wanting WWE to associate with someone who made racist comments just want attention for themselves? If anything it sounds like Bischoff's the one looking for attention.

- The Miz commented about Hogan's return, too. He's always "on" as a character.

- Mark Henry discussed Hogan's return from the perspective of someone who was in the locker room. I hope Hogan does do work specifically benefitting the communities his words affected. I also have to wonder if Bischoff thinks those unnamed members of the roster are just seeking attention.

Vince McMahon was not in attendance at Extreme Rules, but was in contact with officials. Triple H more or less took over his duties, with Billy Kidman in the Gorilla position.

WWE brought a lot of the roster to Extreme Rules specifically for the Hogan meeting, although they weren't told what the meeting was for beforehand. The meeting was a good move from WWE.

Randy Orton was kept hidden backstage until about 30 minutes before his return. They've got to take great lengths to avoid leaks these days.

Roman Reigns vs. Bobby Lashley was originally scheduled to go on last at Extreme Rules, with the Iron Man match starting the show. If WWE thought fans would be respectful toward the Iron Man match main eventing, they quickly learned from that mistake.

Connor Michalek's family visited at Extreme Rules.

Former AWA World Champion Masa Saito passed away at 76. PWInsider.com ran down his career, including remembrances from those in the business. He definitely stood out and laid the groundwork for stars to come.

Hulk Hogan has filmed a video promoting WWE's Superstars for Hope charity campaign. So, they're already making use of him as an ambassador in case he does

Smackdown Live's New Year's Day 2019 episode will be taped the preceding Saturday in Pennsylvania. It wouldn't shock me if USA changed direction there and made them do a live episode, but that's what's set for now.

Raw and Smackdown Live will run TV from the same Colorado venue on September 24 and 25. The preceding Sunday will see a Raw live event in a different Colorado venue.

ROH owner Sinclair Broadcast Group's purchase of Tribune Broadcasting has been postponed due to the FCC raising concerns over plans of Sinclair retaining control over some local stations it's selling. FCC commissioners are being asked to vote on whether to send the deal to a court hearing. So, the move is still far off from happening.

Takeover:WarGames II has been officially confirmed for November 17. I hope they have plans for something that will live up to last year's event. I don't want them to do WarGames matches just to do them.

Brock Lesnar is scheduled for the Raw after Summerslam. I wouldn't be shocked to see him retain the night before only to lose via Money in the Bank cash-in there.

Corey Graves' "Shut Up Saxton" shirt is no longer for sale. That's interesting. I wonder what caused them to suddenly change course at the last minute.

Jim Ross' autobiography was on sale during Amazon Prime Day.

Drew McIntyre was on Lilian Garcia's latest podcast.

Raw stars met with the Buffalo Bills. Brilliant use of Hawkins.

Charlotte Flair expects to be cleared to return to the ring on July 31. She discussed her health issue with Maria Menounos.

Alexa Bliss did a signing at Cricket Wireless before Raw. Good think Ronda Rousey didn't need a new phone!

Raw did not have a dark match after the show this week. Roman Reigns, Seth Rollins, Bobby Lashley, and Braun Strowman vs. Dolph Ziggler, Drew McIntyre, Elias, and Baron Corbin had been advertised.

For my take on yesterday's PWInsider.com questions:
1. That was pretty heavy and inspiring. I was going to say it's cool to see something innovative going on in wrestling, like NJPW running the U.S. more or WWE working with an outside company.

Nothing to add to 2 or 3.

4. I certainly wouldn't want them to get a token spot, but if there's something so big it just HAS to be on Takeover, I'd be open to it.

5. It wouldn't have shocked me, given how disrespectful audience members are these days.

6. I saw it more as him letting them get experience for the time when he's not there to direct everything as a gradual passing of the torch. But, yes, he does have experienced and capable executives in key roles.

More wrestling tomorrow.
