Main Event Reax - 7/21/18, former WWE Champion on Honorclub, Interview with Aries, Miz and Maryse make championships, Elias concert, more Impact TV matches, Brickhouse correction, and Questions on Vince not liking juniors, inducting the Hart Foundation, an old school WWE PPV, the WWE Title having a short name, and the business of having sources

-- Main Event:
- NWJ vs. Hawkins:
Those dancers are distracting. Hawkins is trying to avoid his 209th straight loss here!

Fine work so far.

Curt should have tried for the countout.

Jose's a fine wrestler.

Nice ending.

- Slater/Rhyno/Gable vs. Revival/Kanellis:
I miss American Alpha and The Revival tearing it up in NXT.

Nice grappling here.

Gable's athleticism is insane.

I really wonder how Kanellis got hired. It had to be Maria, right?

Solid for the time it had.

ROH has added a Seth Rollins compilation to Honorclub. That's a good move to capitalize on his WWE fan base.

Austin Aries discussed his WWE run, returning to Impact, and more. Here are some highlights. I'm glad he looks at his WWE tenure so well. It definitely elevated his stock. It's also good to see him being a force for change for Impact. A lot of people have said they want to change that company. He's there actually doing it.

The Miz and Maryse made championships to promote their upcoming show.

Elias did a concert to promote his album release. They're wisely making the most of this gimmick.

Pentagon Jr. vs. Matt Sydal and Sami Callihan vs. Rey Fenix have been booked for Tuesday's Impact taping. The third night in the same venue is going to be a tougher sell, so they're announcing a lot for it up front.

Brickhouse Brown's death was announced prematurely, as he was later confirmed to still be living. He's not out of the woods by any means, but he's apparently still hanging on.

For my take on yesterday's PWInsider.com questions:
1. It could definitely be him not wanting to be known as a junior himself, but it also makes a talent sound younger or smaller, or otherwise like the inferior version of the original.

2. They could definitely do that if they wanted to. I don't think Martha would give her approval, but WWE could certainly do it regardless.

3. I think they want to push it as a modern mega-show instead of playing to the nice nostalgia market. They've deliberately dropped numbers from WrestleMania so it doesn't "sound old," so that could be the same logic here. An old school PPV could be interesting, although really there are only so many people they could use for such an endeavor. I doubt many people want to see a whole show of wrestlers so far past their primes.

4. WWE Championship is a lot easier to say! I guess there's also the factor of wrestlers being smaller than they were years back, as well, but I think the main reason could be dropping all the syllables.

5. I get the feeling there are always people willing to talk to the dirtsheets, especially among younger generations who don't see it as "exposing the business." Of course, that doesn't mean their bosses are OK with it, so they usually stay anonymous.

6. Because being a source can carry negative consequences with the front office, almost all of them stay anonymous until they're out of th ebusiness, and sometimes they even continue it past then.

More wrestling coming up.
