Main Event Reax - 7/15/18, NSYNC member responds to WWE mention Lio does the Shiggy, NXT name pulled from announced match, Interviews with Evans/Y2J, Hogan reinstated and speaks backstage at Extreme Rules, ER guests, Eugene press, SDL live event notes, why Kane was attacked at ER, and Questions on Dolph vs. HBK, toughest stories, Martha letting Owen in the HoF, what should have closed ER, and Brock losing the title

-- Main Event:
- Titus/Apollo vs. Authors:
I'm enjoying this work.

GOD I love seeing the Authors destroy people.

Crews is just getting destroyed here.

Smooth from Titus.

Good to see the Authors rebound.

- Gable vs. Hawkins:
I believe Curt's at 205 straight going into this.

Smooth!!

Damn. This is impressive for Main Event. They could have phoned it in.

OH MAN THAT ROLLUP ALMOST DID IT!!!!!!!

OH COME ON IT WAS SO CLOSE CURT'S GOING TO DO IT THIS TIME I SWEAR.

AHHHHHHH WHAT A HEARTBREAKING LOSS. Good match.

*NSYNC member Joey Fatone honored Team Hell No and New Day after they shouted the band out on Smackdown Live. That's AWESOME.

Lio Rush did the "Shiggy Challenge" to Drake's new song. He's someone to keep an eye on. I don't know how well he'd do without 205 Live existing, but he can definitely succeed on that stage.

Bianca Belair has been pulled from the upcoming NXT Women's Championship contendership match. That interviewer was way too upbeat to be discussing an injury, even a storyline one.

Lacey Evans spoke to Dana Warrior. I'm not saying she's the one who took Bianca out, but she would certainly have something to gain.

Chris Jericho discussed his cruise and more. No word on when we'll see him defend his championship.

Hulk Hogan has been officially reinstated to the WWE Hall of Fame, confirming he and WWE are back on good enough terms to work together.

- Brooke Hogan commented on her father being reinstated. I hope this is the start of Hogan turning things around to become a role model again.

- Hogan spoke with WWE executives and the locker room backstage at Extreme Rules, formally apologizing for his comments and the negative effect they had on the company. That's pretty much what I was hoping he would do to make amends. His actions didn't just affect him.

- Hogan has not, at this time, signed any new contract with WWE, and was not booked for the TV tapings after Extreme Rules. WWE is still being cautious about the whole situation rather than rushing someone in his situation back into the fold.

Rosa Mendes and Nikki Cross were backstage at Extreme Rules. Rosa is from the area.

Eugene's post-WWE life was briefly covered. He made that gimmick work, and is a heck of a wrestler to boot.

At Smackdown Live's July 14 live event in Ohio:
- Kofi Kingston was not at the show.
- Nikki Cross teamed with Naomi, Becky Lynch, and Asuka to defeat Carmella, Lana, and Absolution. The heel side needs Nikki more given the skill level difference between those two sides. Ouch.
- A rope broke after the eight-woman tag, so it had to be replaced. In the time that took, the babyfaces who had just competed did pictures and autographs.

Kane was attacked at Extreme Rules to cover for a legitimate injury to his left foot. I wouldn't be shocked to see him bow out to focus on his mayoral campaign as a result. It was nice to see Team Hell No back again briefly, though.

For my take on yesterday's PWInsider.com questions:
1. Dolph has very consciously imitated Shawn, to the point where I really don't want to see what's essentially HBK vs. Knockoff HBK. Other wrestlers would make more interesting opponents.

2. Hmmmm. I was hit pretty hard by Benoit dying and that aftermath. Edge retiring was big, too, since he was the first wrestler I had ever seen in action. Really any time someone you've grown up with hits tragedy at a young age, that's tough.

3. Things definitely aren't changing on that front anytime soon.

4. I think they made a good call action-wise to close with Seth vs. Dolph, although I wouldn't have minded Roman vs. Lashley headlining.

5. There've been at least three occasions where I thought there was a good chance Brock would lose the title (against Braun and Roman back-to-back) where he kept it, so who knows at this point! And of course, Brock could probably not care any less whether he's champion or not.

More wrestling tomorrow.
