Main Event Reax - 6/19/13, Mania back in Orlando?, Interviews with Anya/Dreamer/Reigns, RVD update, potential Ziggler spoiler, bon voyage to WWE signees, "Daily Show" responds to Zeb Colter, another "WWE is to blame for a death" story, more from Nash, where's Stasiak now?, Rey update, Smackdown not being attended well, WWE writer leaves, NXT updates and Questions on Axel, the NWA, HHH, and Y2J

Main Event:
Honestly, that could have gone a lot worse for the Usos and Gabriel. I think they had a good showing, all things considered, and it won't be too hard for them to rebound. At some point we're going to need some credible challengers for the Tag Team Titles besides Hell No and Orton.

They've explained the Colter/Cesaro pairing well enough for me now. On Twitter, Colter said that Cesaro came into America legally and all that jazz. Is it wrong to hope that Kassius Ohno is the next member of the Militia? I'm itching to see him on the main roster and he has a history with Cesaro. Anyway, good promo from Colter as always. Two words: HEAT MAGNET.

Applause for both Cesaro and Cara there. Both impressive talents under 35. The HHH regime has brought some great results. The future of WWE looks pretty good if these guys catch fire.

Kaitlyn vs. Aksana wasn't amazing, but they've definitely done worse against each other. Both have certainly become more focused in their ring games since NXT Season 3.

Everything else from yesterday is after the break.
Central Florida wants to bring the Royal Rumble and/or WrestleMania to the area in future years. And why wouldn't they? They like money, right? That'd also be great for the NXT stars in the area.

Former NXT Diva Anya talked about her release. Between the current WWE roster, NXT, and new signings, I think WWE's pretty covered as far as Divas go.

Rob Van Dam's deal is currently a fairly short-term, part-time deal. I'm not surprised that he doesn't want to commit to the road full-time. That was a sticking point during his last run. I think it was an issue in TNA as well. I'm fine with him coming in and doing his thing part-time as good as he is. It's a treat to see him at all. As long as when his run's over, they elevate the current and future stars of the company, it's good for him to be back.

Dolph Ziggler is medically ok. They're just setting up for a rematch with Del Rio. It's possible that he wins the briefcase at MITB and cashes in at Summerslam. If he becomes champion again, I hope it goes better than his other reigns...

New WWE signings Smith James and Dan Eckos said good-bye to NYWC. Smith James is one of the greatest "so bad it's good" names ever. "No, no, not 'James Smith'. 'SMITH JAMES."

"The Daily Show" reacted to the Zeb Colter angle. Includes an appearance by Mick Foley! How crazy is it that Cole's a babyface? Anyway, funny stuff. I'd love to see Zeb Colter in-character on something like that.

WWE and wrestling moves were blamed for the death of a 5-year-old in Louisiana. Obviously if we don't ban WWE from TV, we don't care about our children. How many kids all over the world watch WWE and DON'T hurt their siblings? Why don't we go after the swimming pool industry, given how many children die of drowning every year?

Update: WWE has released a second statement on the tragedy. Leaving a 13-year-old in charge of a 5-year-old doesn't sound like the smartest idea to me at any rate.

Update: Thankfully NOLA.com pointed out that WWE discourages trying what they see on TV at home.

Here's more from Kevin Nash's interview with Stone Cold. Boy am I glad that WWE changed from the pre-New Generation days.

Shawn Stasiak is the latest wrestler to be profiled on WWE's "Where Are They Now?". There's an obvious Daniel Bryan joke in there with him wrestling as "Meat". I can see Bryan snapping at him and beating him up. Book it, WWE. I liked him alright as "Planet Stasiak". It was definitely different. All in all, a good read for all the crazy backstage things and Creative decisions that went down. Cool story about Fobia.

Rey Mysterio is getting another surgery soon. I've literally lost track of how many surgeries he's had. WWE wants/expects him back by Summerslam. It's really time to start preparing for a post-Mysterio WWE. He's 38 with a long list of surgeries and 2 Wellness violations. He's obviously a very big deal in WWE and if he can still "go", that's great as he's very talented, but time has to be running out for him. I hope he passes some knowledge on to guys like Sin Cara, Justin Gabriel, Sami Zayn, Adrian Neville, etc..

The most recent Smackdown taping was poorly attended. Not a shock since they treat at as the clear "B Show".

Tommy Dreamer talked about WWE's recent direction and much more. He'll be wrestling RVD before RVD heads to WWE.

WWE writer David Kreizman is leaving the company. He was one of the top writers. It's not easy working for Vince!

NXT will be undergoing a lot of personnel changes when the new Performance Center opens. Steve Keirn could be on his way out. Whatever results in getting those stars ready for TV is fine by me.

Speaking of the Performance Center, it is currently scheduled to be opened on 7/8. Cool.

Roman Reigns talked about The Shield. I didn't know much about him pre-Shield, but I've been pretty impressed with his work. He came across well.

For my take on yesterday's PWInsider.com questions:
1. I'm not a superstitious type, so I think it's probably overstated. But yes, that's it.

2. In a correction to a previous answer I said, I DON'T want him to rip off his dad's gimmick. If anything, he should be saying that he's better than his dad ever was (being a heel, and all). I think the crowd would cheer if he tried to "pull a Chavo" and emulate a beloved deceased relative. I have no problem with him using those moves, either. Who better to use them?

3. I know so little about the modern NWA, since so little info comes out about them. I'd love to see them become a bigger deal. Any time there are more places for wrestlers to get experience and make money, that's a good thing for wrestling as a whole.

4. You shouldn't "really believe" any of his victories, since at the end of the day, it is a TV show. I can see it being harder to buy HHH (or Taker) given their power backstage, but I don't think it's IMPOSSIBLE by any stretch.

5. Jericho's got something of a blank check. Currently he'd advertised with WWE through 7/9, and he has some Fozzy dates booked in August, September, and October. What he does on dates he isn't currently booked for is up to him!

More wrestling tomorrow.
