Main Event Reax - 6/5/13, Terrell on TMZ for a good reason, TNA promotion, Smackdown visitors, Updates on Kofi/Ryder/Mendes, more Creative problems, WWE to China again, Interviews with Miz/R-Truth/Orton, TNA releases, Rampage update, and Questions on supporting indies, titles then and now, Foley, getting over in WWE, and ROH

Main Event:
Sheamus vs. Cesaro was an awesome match as always. If Cesaro had some character development to him (including solid promos) , I think he could be someone who could move up the card one day.

I liked the Usos vs. Rhodes Scholars. The Usos have improved as an act. They're not a top-tier team, but I think they're less one-dimensional than I've seen them in the past. I'm under the impression that they're building them up to take on The Shield, so I don't think this is some kind of slight to Team Rhodes Scholars. I think they just see a story in The Usos trying to take the Titles from The Shield.

Gabriel vs. Hawkins was fine as something of a filler match. I continue to see potential in Gabriel. How far he can go is anyone's guess, but there's something there. Hawkins, on the other hand, I'm not seeing much in anymore. I think it's time for a reboot or something if anyone's ever going to take him seriously. He hasn't won a singles match since 2011.

Everything else from yesterday is after the break.

Taryn Terrell was profiled on TMZ after all of her bruises from her brutal Slammiversary match. That was definitely a war. A dangerous one at that.

Joseph Park did some promotion for the next edition of Impact Wrestling, so I guess he's not done as a character yet.

Here's a piece promoting a TNA event.

WWE Hall of Famers Mick Foley and Bob Backlund were backstage at Smackdown.

The hope is for Kofi Kingston to return in time for Summerslam, though that's too early to call. I'm ready for something new and fresh to be done with him.

Smackdown's script was re-written over the day Tuesday and not finalized until 2 hours before the show, presumably because of the perfectionist and micromanaging tendencies of the McMahons.

WWE is said to have plans for Zack Ryder, which is why he's growing his hair out. We'll see.

Rosa Mendes is set to return to WWE next month. I bet Primo and Epico are happy to hear that. What does it say about how much WWE thinks of them as talents that they're presumably waiting for her to return before using them again?

Here's a press release on WWE going back to China. Ni hao!

The Miz was interviewed in a piece ahead of a WWE live event. I like that he put over his coworkers and the company as a whole.

R-Truth was on TV. Does anyone else miss Awesome Truth?

Here's another brief piece on an upcoming WWE show.

TNA released Douglas Williams and Alex Silva in a possible cost-cutting measure. Williams held a number of titles in the promotion, but recently he was used primarily to get others over. He spent some time in that capacity in OVW. I don't know if WWE would be interested in him at 40 unless it was in some kind of agent/producer capacity (and they have plenty of those who have actually been in WWE). Silva was a Gut Check winner from OVW who had been sidelined with a concussion. Let's just say that he was a work in progress, which is understandable given his age. TNA also officially shifted the recovering Jesse Sorensen away from being a wrestler, acknowledging his current role in production. I believe that he still plans on returning to the ring at some point.

TNA had a press conference following the acquisition of Quinton "Rampage" Jackson. More here. Some highlights: Jackson confirmed that he will be wrestling. He's a long-time wrestling fan. He will continue his movie career. Other MMA stars could cross over as well. He may or may not be working in OVW with King Mo. All in all, I hope this is a big boon for TNA.

Randy Orton had a pretty entertaining interview, recapped here. I got a kick out of him throwing Cena under a bus. And he's got a good point about his match with HHH. Taker's matches have gotten kind of ridiculous with all of the finisher kick-outs. It's like ROH, and that's NOT a good thing. I wish he wouldn't have devalued Ryback or Big E like that, but at least he was honest.

For my take on yesterday's PWInsider.com questions:
1. Pretty much what they said. It's great that you're supporting independent wrestling and trying to get that guy over, but it could cannibalize them if a lot of their content is out there for free. It's tough to say where that line is between giving a free sample for promotional purposes and taking money out of their pockets.

2. Here's the thing: since the World Title is fairly new, it's tough to say how many top guys it will launch. Titles definitely seemed more important in years past. I'll give them that. There used to be the mindset that someone got a championship because the fans were behind them and respect them. Now they generally use championships to GET fans behind them and respecting them.

3. In some ways, HE wants to just be a part-timer if I'm not mistaken. Honestly they've really watered him down to where his appearances don't really mean as much as they used to.

4. It's possible! They do have to get opportunities, but some guys have been able to make their own opportunities (Punk, Ryder) and have gotten pushes because they surprisingly got over (Fandango, Riley vs. Miz). It's not as simple as WWE keeping people down.

5. I would think that more people would know about them now, despite those guys not being there. But that doesn't necessarily mean that they're making more money now. Sadly, there really isn't any way to know.

More wrestling tomorrow.
