Memphis legend passes, Interviews with Eric Young/Douglas Williams/Keneley/ex-WWE writer, Simmons appreciated, live event notes, Austin puts over Henry/Cena, WWE doc on Twitter, Sheik in bad shape, NXT updates, WWE wrestler becomes commentator, World Title match set for MITB, NXT trademark note, Smackdown audience, and Questions on the WWE warehouse, Punk as a face, Raw's quality, the MEM, and WCW markdom

Memphis wrestling legend Jackie Fargo has sadly passed away. PWInsider.com looked back at his career.

Jerry Lawler remembered his mentor. Stan Lane also remembered Fargo. As did Jeff Jarrett. And Jim Ross. Ross made some great points about why he was successful.

Eric Young was interviewed. Like pretty much everything else he's involved in, I lost interest quickly.

Douglas Williams was also interviewed. I thought the other day that it would be cool if he did a version of his "pure wrestling" character in WWE (maybe NXT) against the younger, "flippy" guys to work with them on improving their games.

Here's a brief story on Ron Simmons Appreciation Night. DAMN.

Everything else from yesterday is after the break.
Here's more from Todd Keneley. Taz's comments definitely did become over-the-top. I get that he's a heel, but I don't think it contributed to anything useful for TNA. It's not like they were going to do an angle against each other.

Former WWE writer Chris DeJoseph speculated on why Matt Striker lasted so long in the company. I'd love to hear how Striker would change the business. He knows a LOT about it.

Here's a piece on an upcoming WWE live event. And here's another! And one more, which mentions the recent death in GA.

Stone Cold put over the Henry/Cena segment from last week. It was truly awesome.

WWE's doctor is now on Twitter. I really don't have any quips for that. It's been a long news day.

Yahoo! had a piece on The Iron Sheik. He's 73!? At any rate, that was a very sad story.

J.R. also talked about the WWE Performance Center, and WWE developmental in general. Sounds great!

Alex Riley has replaced Matt Striker on commentary on WWE Superstars. Whether this is a permanent shift or just a one-time thing remains to be seen. I think that's a good role for him, though I also think he has potential as a wrestler. Is he the most dynamic character on the roster? Absolutely not, and that should definitely be changed before he gets a push, but I do think he's done some solid work in the ring.

Alberto Del Rio vs. Dolph Ziggler for the World Heavyweight Championship has been set for Money In The Bank. It's weird to me that Jericho's been a part of the feud if he's not going to be going for the Title. At any rate, that'll be a good match.

Samuray del Sol has applied to trademark his ringname. I doubt WWE will let him go by that name. Presumably he's keeping it so he can go back to using it if WWE doesn't work out. I know that Sin Cara can't go back to being Mistico in Mexico, so that's probably smart of him.

The 6/21 Smackdown dropped to 2.28 million viewers, the lowest mark of the year. Of course, no one's going to blame it on Bryan like they would blame a low number on Cena.

For my take on yesterday's PWInsider.com questions:
1. Yes. WWE keeps EVERYTHING. Here's a story on the storied place. They even have WCW stuff in there.

2. It would have been pretty hard to keep him heel with his return being in his hometown in front of a "smart" crowd. Mark Henry can be the top heel. Or Brock Lesnar if you want to count part-timers. And to say that they changed him into a baby kisser is absolutely ridiculous. He was still pretty edgy as a face. Ask Laurinaitis, Jericho, Nash, HHH, etc..

3. Things look good for now, but I'm sure the IWC will go back to complaining soon enough whether the show continues to be good or not. Especially if Cena retains at MITB (even if it's a set up for Bryan winning the title).

4. Maybe now they've talked and worked something out so that Sting isn't left alone? Give it time.

5. The best part of the Internet is that everyone has a voice. The worst part of the Internet is that everyone has a voice. I really hope that this is a troll. It's that bad of a question. No way were DDP and Booker as big as The Rock. Heck, they probably weren't even as big as Goldberg or Sting. I don't see Sting being as big of a deal in WWE as he was in WCW, but I don't think he would have been jobbing to Test in 3 minutes or anything either. As for why he didn't go to WWE, that is a big factor but once he got on-board with TNA, he's been very loyal to them and I think that's helped, too.

More wrestling tomorrow.
