Main Event Reax - 1/29/14, new TNA Knockout, Punk walks out of WWE, WWE moves international tour, Jarrett update, Matt Hardy arrested, update on Total Divas cast, more Rumble fallout, guest on TNA live event, Angle hurt and Questions on Cena at Mania, Batista's star power, Heel Dixie, legends returning, and ROH on Roku

Main Event:
Del Rio vs. R-Truth was pretty nice. Good word from both men. It's a shame Del Rio's character is so stale because he's quite the performer.

Pretty silly Divas segment, but at least it added some story to the matches.

Tamina vs. Natalya was nice. I wish it would have went longer, but it was good for the time it had.

I liked the post-match well enough. At least now there's something going on too add to the matches.

I can see that cage match setting up Goldust vs. Cody at WrestleMania. I'm looking forward to it.

I liked the six-man tag well enough. It didn't have much greater meaning for anything, but it was fine for showing what The Usos and Big E can do.

Everything else from yesterday is after the break.
TNA has signed indie wrestler Santana Garrett. They continue to make good moves as far as talent recruitment goes. 2014 can really be a time for them to turn over a new leaf.

C.M. Punk has been pulled from all upcoming WWE shows following a meeting before Raw. He stated that he was going home and not coming back. There are probably a number of factors at play here, from burnout due to WWE's brutal schedule to how he and other hard-working stars were positioned in the company compared to the older, more part-time names. He worked for 50 minutes in the Royal Rumble, so that likely took a toll on him as well. And let's not forget the Michelle Beadle situation. I imagine we'll get Daniel Bryan vs. Triple H if Punk doesn't come back before Mania. It's just a bad situation for everyone involved. WWE has some problems they need to address where some people are giving a lot and not necessarily getting a lot back from the company. I definitely see why WWE wants to make use of some of the part-time guys at Mania season, and it can be argued that they've earned those spots, but it doesn't look highly on how WWE values the full-time guys.

Update: The story was picked up by The Independent. Punk said he's cool with Batista coming back, since he's got a full-time deal. As far as Batista winning the Rumble despite a large portion of the crowd reacting unfavorably? I don't know if he's as sold on that.

Update: TMZ also picked the story up. I think another older guy coming back to main event was the straw breaking the camel's back. This has been a long time coming.

Update: WWE has unfollowed C.M. Punk on Twitter, so it doesn't look good for their relationship. As for Punk being angry at the Batista situation, it was more about Punk not getting a big push than Batista getting one.

Update: Despite online talk to the contrary, Punk was not held out of the ring on Monday from a concussion.  Not sure where that one started.

Update: Bully Ray challenged C.M. Punk to a match. Hilarious. Ryback called dibs on his moves. He's been very entertaining on Twitter lately. Kevin Nash gave his take on the matter, which I agree with/

Update: And finally, MTV picked the story up. Clearly this isn't just another wrestling story.

WWE rescheduled their Saudi Arabian tour to avoid conflict with another major event going on there. I wonder how that tour will differ from doing shows in the States.

Jeff Jarrett is in talks to create a new wrestling promotion. Toby Keith is associated with this endeavor in some way, but his exact role is unknown. Jarrett has been scouting talent and could be making an announcement after WrestleMania season dies down. I definitely don't think this is an instant K.O. to TNA, but if he can sign away some TNA originals, it will definitely make a dent in his former company.

Matt Hardy and Reby Sky were arrested following an altercation earlier in the month. It's always really sad to read something like that. I hope this is the last time a story like this occurs for Matt.

Update: They're apparently still together. I hope that's for the best.

JoJo is not mentioned in the advertisements for the second season of "Total Divas", being replaced by Summer Rae. JoJo's still working down in NXT. I wonder if/when we'll see her again, as WWE's basically pretending she doesn't exist at this point as far as the main roster's concerned.

Kevin Nash and Mick Foley gave their thoughts on the state of WWE. The "quad" jokes are getting old at this point. There are better things to bury him for. As for Elimination Chamber, I don't know what they could really do to spice things up that wouldn't throw away what they've built for Mania. They definitely need to transition into a new era after WrestleMania. I don't necessarily think HHH and Taker should retire or they should ban part-time stars or anything like that, but the message needs to be sent that it's 2014 and "The End of An Era" has actually been accomplished.

An Irish TV star named Ivan The Mad Lad competed on a TNA live event, teaming with Joseph Park and Eric Young to beat EC3 and Rockstar Spud. Not exactly a ringing endorsement for Carter.

Kurt Angle was said to be noticeably limping at a recent TNA live event. Not great news for the company considering he's a top act. With no Sting or (currently) Jeff Hardy, there's probably more pressure on him to deliver.

In response to speculation that he'll leave WWE like Punk did, Dolph Ziggler noted having a year left on his contract. It would be quite disappointing if he left and never got to be a true top guy.

For my take on yesterday's PWInsider.com questions:
1. I hope that feud really elevates Bray. WrestleMania needs to be a time to show that the performers who haven't already worked Mania 10 or more years ago can be stars, too.

2. I wouldn't put Batista at the same level as Rock or Lesnar, or even someone like HHH or Taker, but him being in Guardians of the Galaxy is no small feat. There's some mainstream crossover there that wouldn't be achieved by someone known exclusively by those in the wrestling bubble. That's the audience WWE's trying to reach for Mania. As for Orton, they have a notable on-screen history. It makes sense for them to face off at Mania. I'm a supporter of guys like Bryan, Sandow, etc., but I can see why WWE wants to go with the bigger names.

3. I really enjoy her work, but I can see the argument that she shouldn't be an on-screen character and that she takes up too much screen time. Ultimately her presence is leading to the reveal of the investor, so I think it's served its purpose.

4. I think the legends appearances shouldn't take up an awful lot of the show. It's great for them to push the Network by having names from the past return, but they definitely shouldn't be the top focal point of the show.

5. I'm not so sure Sinclair would take kindly to that. Obviously things like Roku are becoming more and more popular as traditional outlets decline, but TV still reaches a much larger audience than Internet-based services.

More wrestling tomorrow.
