Warrior responds to Roberts, What happened after Raw, former WWF/WCW booker passes, Jarrett rumors, TNA rumorkillers, why WWE didn't pick up The Wolves, Sheamus update, WWE event photos, Interviews with WWE Network partner/Piper, TNA live event notes, TNA publicity in the UK, Smackdown audience, Payback location and Questions on Taker vs. Sting, inducting Paul Bearer, Hogan/Piper at Mania, Styles in WWE and TNA copying WWE

Ultimate Warrior responded to Jake Roberts' recent remarks here and here. I wonder if Roberts will challenge him to an MMA fight like Nash did a few years back.

Update: Jake Roberts apologized, which I commend him for. That's very mature of him.

After Raw ended, John Cena traded promos with Damien Sandow before giving him an Attitude Adjustment. Nothing really surprising there. I wonder who Cena's facing at Mania?

George Scott, a pivotal booker in the '70s and '80s, has passed away at 85. PWInsider has a fantastic write-up of his career. It's a great insight on how the world of wrestling has changed.

Update: Ricky Steamboat sent in a statement. Ahh, Steamboat vs. Flair. Good times.

Jeff Jarrett is shopping the idea for a new wrestling promotion, with a lot of rumors circulating. For those looking for him to debut a big national promotion, note how long it took TNA to reach the level it is now. Success won't come overnight. That said, it would be great if there was some new competition out there.

Everything else from yesterday is after the break.

In the latest installment of "#*$%ing dirtsheets", Tommy Dreamer has not signed on as a top agent for TNA and Dave Lagana is sticking around on Creative. When the wrong info gets spread, it makes the whole IWC look bad.

WWE passed on the American Wolves after a nasty botch in their tryout match. That'll do it. I hope they're successful in TNA, though right now there aren't many teams for them to work with. Do they dare bring back the team of Garett and Knux? Then again, that might be the best way to write those two off if TNA's going to send them packing.

There hasn't been any official word of Sheamus being medically cleared to return at the Royal Rumble, but he'll be doing a signing in the area the day before. I can definitely see him being a part of it, even in a limited role.

Here are photos from a WWE live event in Kalamazoo. Go ahead and make the "it's sports entertainment, not pro wrestling" remarks.

A major MLB executive working with the WWE Network talked about it. It'll definitely be a game-changer. It's not going to change the business overnight, but the next few years will definitely be shaped by it.

TNA drew 600 fans in Mobile, Alabama, 1,500 fans in Dothan, Alabama and 1,000 in Albany, Georgia this past weekend. Not terrible for Dothan or Albany, but not a great showing at all in Mobile.

Magnus, Kurt Angle, Rockstar Spud and James Storm will be doing publicity for TNA in Europe ahead of their big tour there. I hope those shows are successes. TNA needs some hits right now.

Smackdown's audience on Friday was 2.92 million viewers. Not bad at all as we approach the Rumble.

Payback 2014 will be on 6/1 in Chicago. I'd be surprised if Punk was a heel at that time, though I suspect people will pay to see him no matter what.

Roddy Piper talked about possibly facing Hulk Hogan at WrestleMania 30. From a historical perspective, it's certainly an intriguing option. If they can get some of those old school fans back (and maybe ordering the WWE Network), it might just be worth the gamble.

For my take on yesterday's PWInsider.com questions:
1. There are a number of interesting things to consider here. Would business be better with Taker vs. Sting or Taker vs. Lesnar? And of course, what effect will all this WWE Network stuff have on everything? WWE might rather get 6 months of the Network at $9.99 than however much they get from Mania after PPV carriers get their cut. Having Sting on the show's not a bad idea to get some of those older fans if possible, but is Brock vs. Taker the bigger draw?

2. I definitely think he should. Whether he will is another story altogether. He has been more open to appearing out of character for charity, DVDs and such, but this is still Taker we're talking about. If he doesn't do the honors, Kane's definitely a great choice. Mick Foley's also a good idea, but I think Bearer's known better for his work with Taker and Kane. I agree it should be at WM30.

3. I think it's time to give Cena vs. Punk a break for a while. It doesn't seem like there's really any new ground to cover there unless you tie in Hogan and Piper more. I could see Cena putting over Hogan a lot, ticking off Punk because he's still mad about things that happened in WCW (as per the Nash feud). So, Punk could team with Piper vs. Cena and Hogan that way. ALL THAT SAID, I don't want to see Cena vs. Punk again at Mania. Nor do I want to see Hogan and Piper involved in that big of a match. How about Piper's Pit with Hogan and Warrior leading to an interruption by 3MB, who would then eat a beatdown from the legends?

4. I think they'd much rather save that spot for someone the WWE audience is more familiar with.

5. I don't think it's that simple. They were probably going to have a unification match anyway with there being two TNA Champions. WWE's unification seemed like it kind of came out of nowhere instead of there being a "Summer of Punk" situation that required it. Dixie's appearance is leading to an investor angle, something WWE isn't doing at the moment. Lei'D Tapa being paired with Gail could also just be because she's green and it makes sense to pair her with a veteran. I don't remember AJ doing an open challenge to Divas outside the company. There are definitely similarities and influences, but it's not the exact same thing going on in both companies.

More wrestling tomorrow.
