NXT talent works more live events, NXT injuries, TNA tryout, WWE Network buzz, Divas' Champ in Maxim? and Questions on Bryan vs. the Wyatts, WWE's stage, the impact of the WWE Network and an ECW re-revival

NXT's Alexander Rusev made quick work of Justin Gabriel on a recent live event. I look forward to seeing what he can do on the main roster. It feels like the roster's already rather crowded, though.

Sami Zayn was on crutches at a recent NXT event. It's believed he tweaked his knee and will be back in the ring by the end of the month. He's a hot prospect down there.

Paige is also said to be injured. There are going to be some really disappointed fans if she doesn't make it to the main roster.

Everything else from yesterday is after the break.
A wrestler by the name of Shawn Shultz had a tryout at a recent TNA live event, losing to Dewey Barnes. The show also notably featured Abyss and Sting. I think Genesis will continue the "changing of the guard" in TNA under the new creative regime. I hope they've got some good prospects lined up to come in.

The WWE Network announcement's effect on social media was given high praise. They're onto something if that activity turns into purchases.

AJ Lee is an option to be on the cover of a future issue of Maxim. That'd be great for WWE. I can see her winning, too.

Josh Mathews discussed the WWE Network here and here. I expect a LOT of talk about it between now and 2/24.

For my take on yesterday's PWInsider.com questions:
1. I definitely think it's possible there's some element of Bryan trying to bring down the Wyatt machine from within on the road to getting back to the top of the card. I'm not sure that's where they're going, though. As for The Shield, they're already working with Punk. I think WWE wants to keep the angles separate.

2. It could have something to do with all the HD equipment they have now. Or maybe they're running smaller venues most of the time? I never gave much thought to it.

3. Will it make them completely change absolutely everything about the product? Probably not. But I can definitely see it changing some things up.

4. This is kind of a two-parter. They definitely have the ability to do a lot of specials on the Network. Heck, they can do pretty much whatever they want there. But I really doubt they'll try to revive ECW again. Even if they wanted to (and they probably don't), a lot of those names have a lot of mileage on them.

5. This way they don't have to give a big cut to the cable/satellite companies. It's pretty smart in theory if we truly are entering a post-cable/satellite era.

More wrestling tomorrow.
