Interviews with Slaughter/Bret Hart/NXT guests, WWE lawsuit note, GFW on intl TV?, heat with GFW name, TNA+NXT live event notes, USA loves WWE, TNA and ROH audiences, Y2J anniversary, more Sting, potential TE signing, and Questions on Taker-Lesnar heat, Braun's future, TNA on FSN, ROH vs. NXT, Orton's next opponent, and Vince's opinion of Cesaro

Sgt. Slaughter talked about a number of career topics. I wish I would have grown up in the era when Mid-Atlantic was hot. Greensboro's not too far from where I grew up.

Bret Hart did a Q&A. Nothing too shocking.

The wrongful death lawsuit stemming from the demise of Matt "Doink" Osbourne has been moved to Connecticut. Not surprising. That's usually what happens when WWE is sued.

GFW is believed to be announcing a TV deal for the UK soon. That's a good start! No word on anything in the U.S..

Everything else from yesterday is after the break.
There was a dispute between GFW and Candice LaRae over her missing their most recent TV taping due to illness. LaRae worked a show the next day, saying she was heavily medicated and working a safer style. It's unknown at this point if the two sides will smooth things over.

TNA is advertising Bobby Roode defending the King of the Mountain Championship at live events later this month. The title is currently an important part of the TNA vs. GFW angle. It's interesting we're not seeing more interpromotional matches on live events.

WWE talked to independent standouts Tommaso Ciampa and Johnny Gargano about working in NXT. Both have pretty damn impressive resumes. I wouldn't be shocked to see more of them in NXT. Ciampa was also recently in TNA, so that's a possibility, too. Right now he's a free agent.

USA Network touted Raw in a press release on their summer ratings. I think the two sides will stick together for a while.

Impact Wrestling's audience this week was 335,000 for its first showing and 85,000 in its replay. That's a nice jump from what they've done the last number of weeks! I don't know how good it will do them as far as staying on TV, but obviously they're still in the same as far as we know.

ROH's one showing on DA this week drew 144,000, which is right in line with what they usually do.

Chris Jericho's match in MSG on Oct. 3 will be 25 years to the day since he debuted, so he'll have some friends in attendance.

Here are results from the most recent NXT live event. I wonder why they changed the Dusty Classic match. Not that it matters all that much given the result.

Sting is now in the plans for Monday's Raw. What DID he do with Rollins' statue?

Tough Enough's Amanda has been at TV tapings and in Orlando since the competition ended, so she could be trying out to be signed by WWE. It's not like WWE's not just going to push the people they think will be successful regardless of the results of TE.

For my take on yesterday's PWInsider.com questions:
1. That's definitely one popular explanation for why the two sides had heat. I suspect it's all water under the bridge now. I do think the case can be made that Brock helped get over HHH, Cena, Punk, Reigns, and Rollins in different ways since his return.

2. Every mastadon eventually gets knocked off and becomes less effective. It's just a matter of how long they're booked as being insurmountable and who beats them. And I think he'd only go after the title if Wyatt commanded him to at this point. Right now he has other goals.

3. Huh. Interesting. It's definitely harder to get info when a show's just in syndication. I'd think it'd be roughly where they are now, at least compared to the higher numbers they got on Spike.

4. ROH has that problem a lot of times. The athleticism is incredible, but they lack in the story department.

5. Obviously the feud should go forever. Orton vs. Owens would be good. Orton vs. Wyatt could be, as well. Or maybe Orton vs. Rusev? Orton not being in the WWE Title picture means he's just sort of floating around.

6. Vince might see him as a midcarder forever, but if the crowd gets behind him enough, Vince might decide to use him as a midcarder regardless. I just expect more of a Bryan-type push if that happens because Vince is still biased toward bigger wrestlers.

More wrestling tomorrow.
